If you’re looking for a full featured iOS application KeepIt has more features than DEVONthink To Go. KeepIt has all it’s features on macOS and iOS and DEVONthink To Go is missing a bunch of features from the desktop experience.
Great video and thanks for sharing your shortcuts. Unfortunately, my iPad shortcut security settings would not allow me to install and use the the save RU-vid video. I even tried to change the security settings to allow untrusted shortcuts. No dice. Any suggestions?
Yes I sync with the newer iCloud method as it's more reliable. If you're just getting started, it's the method they recommend during setup. I'm syncing databases of thousands of files at this point.
Curtis - I see you here used DEVONthink to capture scholarly literature. I am a graduate student, bibliographic, citation and reference management are a concern of mine on mobile platforms. Do you have a mobile solution to these? Bookends?
I don’t have a citation management system because I don’t really need it as I’m not a student currently. Zotero has a mobile component...I’m pretty sure.
@@curtisgmchale I will see about Zotero integration - I do know there already exists iOS user created shortcuts that hook into the Zotero API to provide citation management - It could very well be adapted to pull the reference straight from DEVONthink TO GO with some clever shortcut writing. @@curtisgmchale On the topic of DEVONthink and capturing content. I recently purchased DTPO 3 and discovered it has a eMail plug-in which brings your emails into DEVONthink. Is this a Capture idea you’ve implemented or know of? I’m spending a portion of today setting it up to see if that works better than a traditional email client for handling the ingress of the tasks, references, notifications that all come via email.
@@curtisgmchale That seems sensible. How are you sharing emails to DEVONthink? I presume via an iOS ShareSheet with DEVONthink TO GO. Except most mail apps I use have poor share-sheet integration. The native Mail app has NO share sheet! Neither does Newton Mail. Spark mail and AirMail have sharesheets, buried in their menus. It’s horrifically unergonomic.
It looks like there are some Mail scripts from 2018 but I can't find them right now. I've got it on my list to look at this in the future and share what I find.
