wow never knew the Diplomat had a wagon these vid's are a treasure trove of old forgotten cars. An that '74 K-5 blazer well Chief Brody will be sad that was his ride in Jaws
Always sad for me to see station wagons being crushed.. Those would have been the type of car I'd drive if I had the money.. I'd live in it too.. take out the back seats.. add in a small mattress and box spring.. portable toilet and stove and I could live anywhere..
I'm pretty sure that the Diplomat wagon was discontinued by 1986. I was alive back then, and I don't recall ever seeing one in the wild! @@elaineewalt8137
Ill never seen diplomat wagon before ill though it was mercury marquis wagon Look oh a dodge wow that rare remember seeing in 4 door police cars in the 80s half 90s sad look restorable
@@lawrencerosen8444glad to see someone else pointed this out instead of me. No station wagons were made after 1981 for the Dodge Diplomat. The two-door coupes were also eliminated after 81. All Dodge diplomats were sedans after 81 from 82 on
That Blazer was self-destructing before it could even get into the crusher! (Is it just me or are those new front-loading washers falling apart faster than top-loaders? 🤣) The Chevy C-20 may have been a '71 or '72 because the parking lights were in the bumper; earlier models had them in the grille
1980 Dodge Diplomat wagon probably the salon package. Equivalent to the Chrysler LeBaron Town & Country. Also equipped with the Chrysler electronic lean burn engine fuel management system
Looks like a LeBaron wagon with Plymouth Gran Fury grille, added afterwards. It was a rust bucket, sorry fans, too far along to "restore". No replacement sheet metal out there.
I agree that poor old K5 was essentially dust, yet how many noticed that the upper windshield frame & the front of the top were still there? Did you also see the lowback bucket seats? While it may sound crazy, there are plenty of guys looking to pay GOOD MONEY for those pieces to convert newer ones to a full -top. YET I ALSO KNOW, that truck laid in there a LONG time.
@@LongIslandMopars Thats true. I had a 76 Plymouth Volare that had just over 186,000 on it when the transmission gave up. I gave it to a fellow Plymouth lover for parts to keep other Plymouths going. It was a great car!
Not the Family Truckster! (Yeah, yeah; I know the Truckster was a Ford) That is the first Diplomat wagon I have ever seen, though. I think that Blazer just took over the top spot in our Rustball Rankings. It's fun to toss in a few appliances now and then, too. I wonder if somebody cut that old Chevy truck in half to make a trailer, or if it's @ss just plain rusted off. Good load, today.
