My daughter wants to make these for her Volleyball team. You have the best tutorials. I do wish you had links for what you use. But I've been crafting for years (not these) so I can find the stuff. You make it look so easy. Awesome job!!! 💙💙. Love the tassels!!!!
That’s a great idea! If you have a cricut or some kind of cutting machine she could cut her teammates numbers onto heat transfer vinyl and place it in the cutter or mold, pour the beads and bake them onto the back ☺️ I have been meaning to add links into the description but struggle to find the time.....it’s something I want to work on for sure! One of the fun things about these is that they are remarkably easy to make! Thank you for your comment and for watching!
Too cute, love that holographic glitter that you used what is the name of it? And are the vent clips that you used on the back of the ventie the same vent clips that come on those febreze car air freshener vent clips for your car?
You’re welcome, thank you for watching! You mean the little spoon I use for the mica powder? It came with the set of micas I ordered from Amazon! www.amazon.com/Soap-dye-colorant-coloring-projects/dp/B077B42YB8
If the clip is secure it won’t break off, I know this because I reuse the clips on my own venties I it’s a struggle to get them off. But you could always ship them in a small box.
I have seen tutorials where the cardstock is placed inside the mold and then the beads poured in. The cardstock is then as heated permanently to the Freshies. Will this work? Do you think they would burn? Have you tried it that way? Comments please
Yes, you never want to leave them on a hot dash, first problem would be that there is a higher chance of it melting if it’s just sitting on the dash, second problem would be the oils in the freshie discoloring or eating away the paint/finish. I have vent clips in my car that overlap the vent and are touching the dash/console and they haven’t damaged anything but I would definitely avoid leaving one on the dash under the windshield in direct sunlight.
Yes, it’s this one Cardstock for Freshies ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Zcasra19tg4.html If you click on my icon and go to my channel page and click the videos tab you can see all the videos I’ve posted 😊
I’m not sure which time frame you’re referring to but in the jar they last well over a year, after baked but packaged correctly 6-8 months and once they are in a vehicle it depends a lot on the weather. In the hot summer months they last about 4 weeks but in cooler months they typically last 8-10 weeks depending on the fragrance.
I don’t remember what fragrance they were, those beads were already scented, cured and ready to go before I filmed this. In some of my earlier videos I show how to scent beads so in this one I skipped showing that because it’s specifically to show decorating techniques.
I only put my beads into plastic containers once they are completely dry and I make sure I use the ones in plastic within a month. I do that mostly because I don’t feel like the plastic seals up air tight like the mason jars with the rubber seal. But as long as your plastic container has a triangle with a “5” in it the plastic itself will not absorb your scents.
I have filmed my cardstock tutorial and am in the editing process, I hope to have it uploaded tomorrow!! I have a cricut, not a silhouette but hopefully it’s still helpful!
Thank you! Do you mean just the round hanging freshie? You can make about 21 with 3 lbs. If you’re asking about the whole set I’m really not sure....but estimating the two cactus equal about one hanging round I would say you could make 9 or 10 complete sets (the whole set would be the hanging freshie and two cactus vent clips).
What size silicone mold do you use for the vent clip freshies? I don’t want them to be too big for the vents so want to make sure I get the correct size.
The cactus are maybe on the bigger end for vent clips (3 inches) so I would stay below that. Several of the freshie mold makers make vent clip molds specifically for venties so if you order from one of those companies you can be sure they are the right size.
There are people that hot glue them on but sometimes when it gets hot enough outside the hot glue can get soft again and the weight of the freshie can cause them to fall off. If you would like to use hot glue I suggest that you make an indent with the clip when the freshie is still hot so it will hug the clip a bit more when you glue it on and also use a high temp hot glue, I think Gorilla Glue makes a high temp glue stick.
Am new to making freshies. Is it safe to use the same oven that i use to cook with for the freshie? And what type of plastic container is best if i choose not to use the Mason jars. Thank u
People seem to consider using your home oven safe, you are heating and melting plastic soaked in fragrance chemicals so if you are really concerned about it you can use a small toaster oven. I use my regular oven and it doesn’t contaminate my food (that I can tell) but like I said, if it’s something you are worried about then it’s better to be safe than sorry.
This is by far the best tutorial I've seen. Look into a Patreon account and get paid girlfriend! Relaxing music. I would like the camera in closer. My eyes are old.
Thank you! I’ve heard about Patreon but I thought it was just another social media app…..what do you get paid for on there? Videos or selling products? Ok, I will keep that in mind ☺️
You have your viewers join for whatever monthly membership you want to charge. $5, $10, $15 a month. You let them see in depth info or let them see tutorials first say a week before the public on RU-vid. Then you can run contests where they can win prizes like a tumbler or supplies.
Thank you so much for you videos I so enjoy watching them 🙂 I was wondering what size tassels you use I believe you said you get them on Amazon but was just wondering the size?!! ☺️
Total length of mine are 1.5 inches, here is the link to the ones I use. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08HL48RY7/ref=ppx_yo_mob_b_track_package_o0_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have a question about the beads you said you at times buy yours from buyitshipit I went to buyitshipit and place an order of beads but they asked what shape of beads my question is what shape do you buy? Thank you
Best place to order them from are candle companies, they are not the same as laundry beads! Buyitshipit.com Makefreshies.com Stayfreshwithpeanut.com Lonestarcandlesupply.com
I don’t sell cardstock but you can buy it on Etsy just search “cardstock for freshies” or if you have Facebook there’s a freshie group with a lot of ladies that do make and sell it. Once you’re in the group you can search “destash” and posts will pop up, scroll through the comments and you’ll find all the ladies selling cardstock, the link for the group is below! facebook.com/groups/757895224617677/?ref=share
Yes you can! You have to use a silicone mat under your cutters to get the same effect though, you can’t do it directly on the cookie sheet and get the same look.
What I’m using in the video is from Hobby Lobby but they don’t have a great selection. There are websites that sell glitter for resin tumblers that offer a much larger selection of BEAUTIFUL glitter! The only one I can think of right this minute is “Fairytale Glitters” Link for Hobby Lobby glitter www.hobbylobby.com/Crafts-Hobbies/Basic-Crafts/Glitter/Metallic-Ultra-Fine-Glitter/p/24536
@@FarmhouseDesigns Hi! What section of Hobby Lobby is the glitter you got? I love this one you used and want to make sure I get the right kind. I'd like to try to just pick some up there and try it since I'm just starting out before I place a glitter order.
I’ve never used E6000 on freshies, I feel like I have seen some people say that it works. Best advice I can give would be to try it and test it in your own car.
Yes! You can do it both ways and I was afraid to color after for the longest time because I saw in another video that the beads didn’t stick together if you colored after but as long as you don’t add too much mica it’s not a problem, I’ve never had beads fall off.
Sorry for the delayed response, I’ve been recovering from covid so I’m a little (a lot) behind. Yes, I soak my beads but the length of time depends on the oil, sometimes they have soaked and are dry within 8 hours and others take up to 7 days to dry. After they are dry I let them sit for an additional 7 days before I use them.
