Barn Bargains and other cheap challenges...
Episode 1: Finding the first projects!
Barn Bargains and other cheap challenges is a new series relying heavily on vehicles purchased from either the Kowalski Salvage Cars or from Barns. These chunks of metal will become the focus of various challenges, profit margins or just to keep for my private collection. Challenges and creations may overlap in videos so don’t miss an episode! Some challenges are listed below. These are not all inclusive… So, feel free to challenge me!
- Nothing New: No new parts purchased. Parts must come from junkyards, scrap heaps, barns or donor rides. No new parts purchased or repaired.
- Classic Creation: Overhaul a classic Barn Find back to its original form. All parts will be repaired. Only new parts purchased are parts that cannot be repaired (Tires, Sparkplugs, Interior, etc...).
- Trash to Track: Purchase a car from the junkyard or Kowalski's Salvage Cars and rebuild it with parts from only the junkyard, barn or donor junk cars. No parts repaired and none purchased from the catalogue. When it’s complete, take it to the track and get your best track time.
- Budget Build: Looking to do a 30k, 25k, 20k, 15k Challenge and beyond. Get the most amount of profit from a “Running” and “Drivable” ride, being limited to the budget. Budget includes car purchase! Car can be purchased from Barn, Kowalski Salvage Car Auction or Junkyard.

You missed quite a few parts that wouldve worked on the Skyline. There was even a left door for a '70 Mach 1 in the third to last pile you looked in, It was a red interior door though

I have been doing the Level 5 Junkyard Challenge....just finished my second car -- 70 ElCo, and will post it in the FB Group tomorrow. Need to take it to the track. Couple of hints: *) Make a list of the parts you need -- need to be 15% or higher to drive. *) Buy a car with as complete of an engine as possible -- the little parts are the killer -- sparkplugs, rod caps, push rods, ignition coils, cam caps, etc. *) Plan to spent many trips searching for parts -- I have found 46 piles to search. :-0 *) For my first car, I ended up buying another car and taking needed parts off of it -- didn't strip it, just took what I could use, and sold it. Lost a few dollars but definitely worth it. My M6 wasn't super fast, but I made a lap under 3 minutes using the keyboard controls, and I think it could do better with a little tweaking.....and using my controller. 🙂 Mainly...have fun!!

i know it sounds funny, but that dodge minivan would have been king, the hp of a car is important, even the games vette would have been wicked fast just having teh red head v8 in it. but, i like the nissan choice too. downside of all them mods with 30-100 body parts options is how hard it will be finding things in yard, being above level 5 to start the junkyard challenge ruins the hardness of it, having big bucks to just buy whatever removes teh struggle, and in barn i noticed you have the McLaren F1 mod still, thus a huge profit part if bought and restored to sell, just one part alone can gain you thousands of bucks, but still, if you can get it running and on teh track without using teh tablet/store, then it should still count. you could have restored the mustang hood if you went to teh body table instead of teh parts table. it will take you ages of going to yard just to find enough cam caps for the Bu2 motors, let alone the rest of teh parts. for the amount of time it takes to hunt in the yard, it would be advisable to not record the junkyard hunts, just show us what you found when you get back to teh garage, there is a lot of parts and piles, and i cant believe you left an almost perfect rocker arm, some parts are must grabs, even if only for later. and having over 200k compared to only 15k and no shop upgrades is a huge difference. plus you are already at a level where there is no cut off to get it done by, i do think you will still have a very hard time completing teh car to go to track, but its so much harder at level 5-10. 14 BU2 T cam caps, hhmmm, not even sure i have seen that many myself yet, i guess best wishes is in order then, i will return to see more of what transpires though for sure

Thank you for the input. I don't know what I was thinking to be honest. The red Head V8's are so easy to remember for parts for me and any Vanilla car would have been easier to rebuild. I will take you advice on the Junkyard Recording. I was thinking that today. There are a couple of more episodes, but from there it will be parts only.
