On your emergency window break hammer, there's also an indent on the handle, that has a purpose!! It will cut a seat belt, this can be done in emergency situations as well. Think of it like an letter opener. You basically slide the seat belt into that little slit, and it will cut the belt. I just thought you might want to know that, as well as your subscribers and viewers. :)

Also, the head rests are made to come all the way out on purpose so you can use the metal to break your window! I've always wondered why they come out & thought it was just so you can take your car seat fabric off to wash it lol, then one day I read that is why they come off!! I had no idea & I wondered how many other people don't know about this!!

I think you should add a towing chain, in winter a collapsing shovel to dig your way out of snow (I live in Canada it happens more common then you would think) also a book or crossword to pass the time when stuck in a situation. Basic tool set for handy work and bungy cords and crasp rope just a suggestion.

A needle- I’ve used mine twice to remove splinters in my husband’s hand and my daughter’s hand. Learned that one from my dad. 1970’s and the man had a needle and thread in a tiny leather pouch in the glovebox. I was about 8 and got a splinter at the park- I was SO impressed that he was that prepared. Also- miniature scissors have come in handy several times. And tweezers. I love over-preparedness. But- I was at the park with my son when he was in elementary school with his class and all the moms. My son got stung by a bee- and I was the only mom out of about 15 who had a first aid kit. Being mildly OCD has its moments😉.

That is exactly what I was thinking while watching this. Not only would this system never survive kids, no one with kids would have enough free time on their hands to think of all the emergency supplies she drives around with. My emergency kit is a fully stocked spare diaper bag and extra wet wipes.

great ideas! Alejandra's videos are really useful to give specific brands and sizes instead of just general lists or recommendations. often each item is selected carefully so i appreciate taking advantage of the research she's already done.

I would like to add an extra tip, similar to someone's idea of keeping a laundry basket to make carrying groceries easier. (what a great idea!) What I like to do is keep a SMALL, Dollar Tree sized cooler in our trunk, to prevent cold items from turning warm before we can get it home from the grocery store.

It snows where I live, so I put a soft snow 'pusher' in the car when it is snowing. It's made of a foam-like material, the head swivels and its telescopes. On the other end is an ice scraper. So handy! I might have bought it at a car store a few years ago.

Hey great vid. You should be VERY CAREFUL about keeping all that personal info in your car. Here in British Columbia, you can cut out or black out your personal info from your insurance and registration. You must leave the VIN, licence plate etc. But eliminate name, address, etc can be eliminated (obviously you must keep your licence intact. You may want to check out your local rules and regs about personal info stored in a car. Not to sound creepy or crazy, and please take this in the heartfelt purpose it is given - I've watched some of your videos and know where you live (general city/neighbourhood), the names of your partner and pets (including what they look like), that you drive a 2015(ish) silver Subaru, your pet's health issue, and that you moved into a new home Jan 1/16. Most of that is just from THIS VIDEO!! I just wanted to pass along this info because of what has happened to several high profile social media professionals in recent months and I've appreciated your videos and tips for several years.

Some of the ideas I really liked like the net while u open the trunk or boot space ... helps a lot to stop popping out things while you open or even at malls when they check your car for security purpose. 👍🏻 Nicely organised overall .. can say a complete organised necessity items for long drives or for a long day .. most satisfying to know you don't use plastic water bottles which is a thumbs up 👍🏻.. absolutely rightly advised. Plastic bottles are harmful .. very true !

I also keep a gallon water bottle, doesn't have to be a full one. it's in case I need to wash my hands or face after a hike/gym or if I got dirty or sticky. Also maybe a tiny size liquid soap? I also keep a pack of tissue box (dollar store or Walmart) open and accessible on the passenger floor because I need it to use while driving and don't have time to mess around. I'm wondering about the cliff bars, I live in California and it gets 115 in summer, so in the car the cliff bar can melt? Do you listen to music while driving? Do you keep cd's in the car? or mp3? I Also keep cheap tweezer, you be surprise of facial/chin hair you can notice while driving and looking in the mirror in direct sun light. (that I've missed seeing in the bathroom light). Also I "hide" some money for when I see stuff at garage sale (small bills). ok, have a great day and I love your videos! you are awesome and beautiful! xoxo! KEREN.

Target sells expensive round containers of tissues that fit in my car door's extra water bottle holder which is in the bottom of all the doors. I have such allergies I always have one in every door. Lifesaver for me. The tissues pop out of the top. I just reach down around knee level and pull.

I have an over the lined trash bag that I empty, wipe out and put back in the car. I also have a first aid kit, blankets, flashlight with extra batteries, bottled water and some boxes of raisins and beef sticks and a flasher, a cooler bag for food going from the grocery store to home, long handled ice scraper and brush, a book to read when I am waiting on my kid and a bag of kitty litter in case of icy weather, and hand wipes and hand sanitizer. I update the items every 2 months., jumper cables and spare tire (full size)

Friend of mine showed me this vid. I almost died of laughter. I lost it when Ale broke down the make and model of her favorite pen. Because everyone is gonna rush out to their local dollar store to have the EXACT same kind safely and securely placed in the arm seat compartment in case of an emergency. We have to comeback to the basic ,Too much SMART technology are making us less smarter than our grandparents, a few years ago we were able to memorize all our Families ,friends, and important phone numbers , my neighbor’ grandma is 95 years old and she can call her families and friends using her SMART contact list that she Store by heart.🙀

I think it's really important to make safety a priority. That heavy organizer could be a hazard in the case of a wreck. Does your vehicle have an option for a cover for the trunk areas that rolls/slides up? Any time I am driving with something heavy like cans of paint or new tools I try to remember to cover it. I hope I don't roll my car, but if it happens I don't want injuries from heavy items flying around.

Another great tip. I do this for my vehicle because I have a truck. I use small tote boxes under my back seats. They have latch lids and a handle. I use these to store cleaning supplies that or just for my truck and I also store extra clothes just in case. The totes I have are small enough to store about four of them under the back seat. I label them and it keeps everything in one place and organized. I also have one strictly for feminine products for those unpredictable days because I tend to forget to bring some when I'm at work and can't leave to run to the store. These can also be great for keeping towels and raincoats handy for those extreme rainy days where an umbrella just won't do.

Another tip for your trunk: keep a pair of tennis shoes (so that if your car breaks down, you don't have to change a tire or walk to the gas station in heels) and a sweater (for everything from cold grocery stores/movie theaters to unexpected weather changes.)

Yay! I love my Outback! I keep a few collapsible cubes in the back and I connect them together with giant paper clips. I got them at dollar tree! Great for holding groceries and car cleaning supplies.

On your quarters bottle, there should be a dollar sign instead of a cent sign. The way you have it makes it look like it is a quarter of a cent, rather than a dollar. So it should be written like this: $0.25 or like this: 25¢. Great video though!

It may just be me, but if I break down somewhere where emergency water becomes a necessity I'm probably not going to be worried about the chemicals that have leached into the water from the plastic bottles. I would be more worried about the glass bottles breaking from an accident that has left me stranded, and all of my emergency water spilling out into the trunk.

Might need a LifeStraw. Won’t need to carry weight of water and that will contribute to gas mileage. This way, you can get all the water you like anywhere.

Alejandra, thank you so much for posting this video. Good tip on the middle console with make-up bag. I also like the organizer for the trunk. What I have done with my plastic grocery bags (used for trash) is ball them up small and tight. Then I put them in an empty kleenex box and store them under my seat. This way, they are out of the way but easy to get to.

I definitely will use a poly envelope to hold my tissue in. Before, I had a tissue organizer in my passenger side visor but that can accumulate a lot of dust/dirt. Also, I like the fact that you use the rear seat headrest to hold your reusable bags. Very informative video!

Glad to see you keeping most of your items in compartments. Remember people; when the car comes to a sudden stop, unsecured objects inside the car will continue moving at the same speed. Everyday harmless objects can quickly turn into deadly projectiles when their weight increases about 50 times. There’s people who have been killed by their own groceries in crashes that otherwise is considered non-fatal. This also applies to people without seat belts and unsecured dogs. If a crash occurs at 50 kilometers per hour (around 32 miles per hour), an eight kilogram dog (approximately 18 pounds) can strike front seat passengers with a weight of up to 400 kilograms (approximately 882 pounds) If you double that speed, the amount of kinetic energy quadruples, making the same dog around 1600 kilograms (approximately 3528 pounds) Needless to say, your body is not built to survive impacts like that…

I love your video's and am so excited that you made a new one. The only thing I suggest to people is to remove you address from registration and driver license copies in case your car is stolen or burglarized. Also garage door remotes make it east to burgle your home. Just my tips to share to make it harder for bad guys.

There is only one thing I can think of that you forgot: a gallon of water in case your care overheats, etc. (You definitely don't want to use your expensive water for that!) Great video!

This is the 1st video of hers I've watched & my OCD & I really liked it. My only real observation is that she has all that 'incase of an emergency' stuff in the car but the smallest First Aid kit I've ever seen & no fire extinguisher. Surely the most common emergency people have in cars in a car accident & therefore these things would be more useful.

If you switch your dog to raw meat, bones, and organs (ONLY) she won't ever have a problem with her blood sugar again (and cravings for human food will go away). The distinctive dog scent will go away, as willl the need for baths--and even teeth cleanings at the vet! Look on the Mercola youtube channel for reasons why to switch.

I love your videos and organization ideas, always look forward to watching them. On this particular one though, I would like to point out that in the glove compartment or anywhere in the car is NOT a safe place to keep personal information about yourself or family, such as a copy of the Drivers License, insurance card, vehicle inspection.; although it makes perfectly good sense to keep them here for easy access, it's just not safe. If someone were to break into your car or steal your car, then they would have access to your address, your birthday and other information that should not be shared. If someone were to break in the car, I wouldn't want them to know where I live to possible break in there as well. Certain areas you cannot leave anything inside a car that may look of any value, they do "smash & grabs" to steal what they think could be sold, so leave nothing that would make anyone want to break in. Just an FYI. And....living in Florida, some of the personal items kept would melt in our climate in the summer months.

The likelihood of needing more than 10% of this stuff is minimal. You might need a pen but various colors? Add supplies based on what you've used or wished you'd had while you waited for someone. How much sanitizer, wet wipes, paper towel, napkins do you need? If you breakdown and need a box of breakfast bars and 4 liters of water I figure you don't take your car in for regular servicing! Better to have an SOS sign

If you do come across an injured dog or animal of any kind you should be very careful when you approach them. Injured animals are extremely dangerous animals and will hurt you if you corner them. Cape Buffalo have a reputation for being mortally wounded by gunshots and still managing to chase down and kill entire hunting parties. Though your theoretical injured dog is unlikely to be a 3500lb charging horned buffalo-oxen (I guess there's always a chance?) you still can get hurt badly.

I have lived in Maine and in the South. In Maine, most things will freeze in the winter. In the south, most things will melt or expire from the heat. I would love to see a purse organization video.

I was able to get myself the used car I wanted when I started looking to replace a car. It is a 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis. I was totally surprised to find out that this car has no center console. Only a glove compartment and front door pockets. I am trying to find ways to keep things at hand: Tissues, sun glasses, nightime driving glasses. I found that a short box of tissues will fit under the folding arm rests on the front seat. Sun glasses is more of a challenge. Then I found a short black metal letter tray to slide the tissue box on and it comes forward enough that I can put folded glasses there. I have had the car 3 months. Now my next job to tackle is a place for CDs. My CD case and then loose CDs when I change them out while driving. I have the transmission hump in the front and it is carpet. The dash is not even an OK place because it is narrow and flat or level. Not made for storing anything. It makes it easy to clean the inside of the windshield, tho.

Just a tip for others! My Voss water bottle did shatter when it froze in the winter and it was a major pain to clean up that shattered glass. Now I have my emergency water inside one of those bag-type water bottles and put in a ziplock just in case it cracks.
