Thanks for sharing Lex! Many valuable lessons to be learnt! No sympathy for them at all, yet I can just hear them pleading that they stole the food to feed their starving families...........little do they know they were observed for ages before they got hungry!!

If they'd spent same amount of energy doing something positive they'd probably be earning a fair amount of income

Last week in Cape Town - Long St I think someone was jamming the signal from my remote. Fortunately I went back to the car to lock it manually. Oddly enough as soon as I locked manually the remote started working again. Watch out folks!

I at many times experienced this, where my vehicle didn't want to lock at certain shopping malls... I am no fan of locking the car with just the key, and also thought it was the batteries, but what didn't make sense was it works well in other areas... so i did the Following. Put the remote under the Arch of the front left wheel, or right. no way they can jam it then. the signal should be strong enough in my opinion to make direct contact with the system. Works every-time for me. Stay awake and take notice of people...when you think you didn't lock go Check!!!

foreign cars being targeted is very true. we were in KZN over the new year, and being from Limpopo our number plate is L. Lots and lots of inquisitive eyes on our new Polo Hatch everytime we stopped at a place, especially suspicious "car guards" offering to watch it for us.

The narrator came so close to making stealing sound cool...lol

Hi Lex, Since these scambags know they will not stay in jail and can just callously continue to this, next take their picture with a phone or camera (clear ones) and put them all over the net or Facebook where their families and community would see. Ruin their lives since the justice system will not hold them accountable for their crimes.

As a car guard I don't like it when someone just parks sits in the car or stand outside the car I'll always ask them whats their business in the mall if u ain't going into a shop in the mall then u better live immediately otherwise I call security immediately

This very same car with the exact registration followed my family and I on the road from Breyten to Ermelo, Mpumalanga at speeds of over 220km/h after attempting to cut us off at a junction and utilising aggressive overtaking manoeuvres to slow us down. Once we reached the town of Ermelo we fortunately managed to avoid them.

Good work, though sounded like a documentary. I understand you had securities on standby in your shop, but what would you have done if they managed to steal something from the car park (SAPS on standby)? When "Buttons" was pressing the button next to the red car, was it meant to force unlock the red car or they were trying to block signals for the other cars not to be locked so they can go steal from them? Love the alias "Buttons", by the way!!!!

I am ex SA and am glad I am no longer there to see these antics but in the time when PW Botha came to power things changed and NOTHING was safe stealing was left right and under your nose you had to literally watch everything and it still goes on today

SAPS gave them free board and lodge for the night but the food cost them a lot more. It's a pity they weren't sentenced to jail.

This style of fixing cars in the parking lot is dangerous always have a breakdown number as a car guard immediately u call them for such u will see them close the bonnet n claim the car is fine all of a sudden yet they were busy trying to send me the carguard for water😅😅
