All the people comparing about the lyrics, as if Will will not record this song with 75% different lyrics and then change 30% of those for the live show.
you guys need to understand that sometimes repetition is purposeful... like... do you think that Will didn't realize when he was writing it that he repeated the titular phrase quite often?? it's pretty clear lmao. for me this repetition just emphasizes this kind of manic and circular thought process. the only thing they're thinking about is STOP LYING TO ME. i feel like that's kind of the point....
@@fuckjules5816 no dude, theres literally no other reason to repeat this stuff, it was def intentional. the instruments also get more intense, along with his delivery of the lines. its a pretty good interpretation.
This song got scrapped according to Andrew on a podcast if anyone wants to know Apparently it was scrapped after Will noticed the negative reception to the lyrics damn
god this song is so fucking good. love the different phases of it. i have a feeling that they might return to it on future projects since it got kinda scrapped earlier on.
I am not awake I am not asleep I am not so shallow I am not that deep Would you stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop Lying to me, lying to me, lying to me, lying to me? Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop Lying to me, lying to me, lying to me, lying to me? Shadow on the sky Like a plane coming in Who're all the scumsuckers Taking over my life Would you stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop Lying to me, lying to me, lying to me, lying to me? Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop Lying to me, lying to me, lying to me, lying to me? Lose, lose, lose, lose, lose, lose, lose if you try, try, try You can lose, lose, lose, lose, lose, lose, lose, lose if you try, try, try You can lose, lose, lose, lose, lose, lose, lose, lose if you try, try, try You can lose, lose, lose, lose, lose, lose, lose, lose if you try, you try, you try, try, try I see, won't you spend some time with me? I see, you've got something up your sleeve I see, won't you spend some time with me? I see, you have something up your sleeve I see, you have something up your sleeve Oh You can love again if you try again You can love again if you try again You can love again if you try again You can love again if you try again Who said would you spend some time with me? I see you have something up your sleeve, your sleeve, your sleeve You can love again if you try again (x23) You can love, you can love, you can love, you can love You can love If you try, you can love You can love Oh Thank you
this song is so fucking good, yeah the lyrics are a bit repetitive but that's not the focus of the song. not many people complain about repetition in a good bridge to never cross until theres no doubt that he's dead so..
Naked Giants really added their twang in this and I love it. These two bands make great music together. The lyrics shouldn't have been a problem with ppl smh my head
The Brodster same! But then I remembered this comment section and somebody just said he only mentions a line from it. I heard the vinyl version first and the reference wasn’t on that one since deadlines is one song on that version.
@@yeezymcsqeezee yes the band this sounds like guitar wise is Two Door Cinema Club....I was just making a badly worded joke about car doors due to this bands name. I suppose it didn't land.
They've actually released a new album on Bandcamp and it's called "Making A Door Less Open". I can't guess what kind of a pun I can make here, but it's so fucking precious considering your comment.
cant cool me down is written pretty well, the build and break are very rewarding, this song is definitely lacking tho but its also unreleased Im sure there is a more complete studio version.
