I wish to share an experience which I was involved in, though not related to car theft. In a bus waiting lounge in Nrb,a certain girl approached me, sounding distressed to the point of sobbing,saying that she had just lost her phone to a pickpocketer and wanted me to assist her with my phone so that she could contact her dad. In a lounge full of people,I wondered why she targeted me,( A 60- year old man with a smartphone) while there were several young people with phones. I politely declined and asked her to give me the number of the person she wanted to call so that I could dial it myself and put on the loudspeaker. At that point,she walked out trying to go after a person she had seen going by in the street. Some youths looked at me and one of them remarked,"buda wewe uko sharp. Angepigia mtu simu huku akienda akiongea'. I thanked my God for saving me from the ordeal.

Never give your neighbour a car. There is a lady who asked me for my car to take her kid to hospital. This was one week after buying it. I refused. Two weeks later, our premises was swarmed with CIDs nikaona anawekwa kwa boot ya Subaru. Apparently they hired a car na ikadissapear. Akasema ati aliwacha ikirun akaingia kwa supermarket. She was released from prison and moved from our place but is still in the neighborhood. Na ni mrembo kuruka. Single mum with many wanaume visitors with red bhang eyes. Hatari. I'm sure angeenda aprogram a copy of the key after three days ipotee.

Also, a car thief is here watching this content with a pen and a notebook to stay updated so that they can bypass these measures one way or the other 😂😂 It's just the irony of life 😂 And they are the ones who concentrate more while watching these content 🤣

When you park your car just remove fuel pump fuse no thief has time to start looking for fault in the car

I lost my Toyota Allion in 2019 at Kasarani and the way it was recovered was and still is nothing short of a miracle. It was intercepted near Khoja by police on patrol and towed to central police station, while I was still asleep.

Thanks sir another simple way is to cover the fob with silver foil.... install a smart battery cutoff in a hidden location in the engine...and remove the obd place it miles from it's port and install a surrogate that does nothing.......the main point for reading the fob algorithm is the Obd.. install pump cutoff so that the car won't start except disengage it. there other ways too but remember prayer to THE LORD is the ultimate protection

I like your a analysis. There is a fuel cutting pipe like the one used in speed governors. You can just install one along the fuel system. Thieves do not want to do lots of mechanical diagnosis. With this pipe, the car will start, move few meters and stop. Even mechanics will have a problem identifying why the car stopped.

Just install a kill switch, electric shocker or disable steering wheel and you would be done with car thieves.

I was living in Kwandege Embakasi and my probox was stolen in November 2021 and up to date it was never recovered... 4 months later a new neighbor at the same spot got his mazda demio stolen. My friend at Fedha had his fielder stolen after some few months. Ilibidi nitoroke embakasi na nihamie kwa estate ,too many stories of vehicles thefts in Embakasi...

I still fail to understand how someone spends 2m to buy a vehicle then leaves it to sleep out on the streets

One small thing not mentioned is that sometimes (or maybe often) the thieves have a link person living among the tenants. One of the neighbours does surveillance then when ready alerts the thieves

One thing you didn't mention, the stolen cars in the news clip had tinted windows. Most Euro and JDM cars will come with privacy glass in the rear and clear glass for the driver, front passenger, and windscreen; leave the car that way. Dont go putting 5% tints on the windscreen and front windows. It just makes you a target. Our roads now have cameras, and most neighbourhoods have CCTV, so if car thieves think they will be easily spotted, that in itself will be a deterrent. If you want increased UV protection for your car, have a clear UV film installed for the windscreen, passenger and driver windows -- and privacy glass for the rear.

My Toyota 110 was stolen 2019 at Juja area up to today not recovered but later, God blessed me with a Big American Machine and i also dedicated it.

One big challenge with these rare models of vehicles is that even insurance cos shun them when it comes issuing them with comprehensive insurance cover. They cite non availability of spare parts during partial loss insurance cover(repair work). Otherwise the analysis has been spot on.

Too sad, this matter should be addressed urgently. Kwanza in most cases they are targeting Premio, Allion, Fielder, and D-max. Watch out guys!

Mine was once stolen two years back same month October i recovered it and got the thief as he was trying to discover where the tracker was. These thieves work with even the police so always install not a single tracker and not in an obvious position. Again put ur car in a safe parking sio nje wataiba tu ata na alarm. It reminds me of an old friend who bought a Peugeot 504 pick-up in early 90s from marshals harambe avenue those days,he parked it at shell and bp which is today deputy presidents office,that same day it was stolen and never found,i remember him going up and down harambe avenue just in case he forgot where he parked and even kept checking his pockets😂.

Hidden cameras? You can even hear them and maybe watajisema vile wanaibanga and where they go to etc

A hidden engine killer switch , similar to the one which override ride a PSV speed governor can also help.

I know of a guy who installed a "nannycam" on the dashboard... The cam is able to capture the driver and the passenger very clearly... How he did it... I don't know but at any given time, he can be able to see who is in his car...

My colleague lost his car last year October at Uhuru gardens when we were out for Marathon. Police and insurance did investigations and until now the guy has not yet been paid by insurance despite having insured comprehensive.

The thing is they are using network jammers nowadays so having 2 or more tracking is pointless coz they will search for all trackes at a ,,,the thing is having more than one cutout

I think in the 1990's in South Africa when they got the BMW E30, they modified them to have flame throwing capabilities which would have car thieves burned when they tried to steal them.

Believe me when I say it's gonna get worse,that's how it started in S.A, the rot is deep from the dealership,tracking companies and police it's a syndicated, they are sophisticated ,if you want those cars go to your neighbouring countries in their dealership they hv your cars ,goodluck but it's gonna get rough.

Stop leaving your car with ignition keys on at washing bay.Tuplicate keys are made.

Major blame should be the DCI, they know all the buyers of these vehicles but they don't go after them. Go to any salvage yard and you'll find 100s of written off cars without number plate. NB this number plates are still in the system with another similar car.???? It only happens in Kenya😢

I have idear here,your car connot start if you bypass ingnation keys cable,introduce another switch in btwn ECU,..the car will not start without that complete connection becouse you've introduced another switch,that switch must in a hidden place where u can switch it off at night and on before igniting your car,..there must be communication between ECU and fuel sensor

If u live in a risky area, just open the bonnet, and remove the fuel injection relay. Car won't start, won't drive. Costs nothing. No car thief carries a fuel injection relay. Car safe.

Lack of spares for this brands of cars leads to high theft rate. Am highly suspicious with the car dealers n the tracker guys for this brands are also high in demand in the market. Dont rule out the rogue police involvement in the syndicate.
