Props to you for having the ability to buy this car for yourself. I actually scrolled through the comments and was shocked that no one complained (even after you said you bought it yourself and it was used etc). I worked two jobs when I was 18 and got about half of what I made from my parents, saved and bought my first car and I got crap just for getting a little bit of money from my parents. I just don't get people who get so mad about others having parents who can afford or are willing to help them out. I get crap for the fact that I am a junior in college and I still only work 16 hours a week and only on the weekend. Like that's all I need, I pay for my gas, insurance, textbooks and luxuries, sorry that my parents and I get along and they help me out? I remember working 40 hours a week my first semester of college, it was HARD I dropped weight, I was crying all the time, I was having to speed to get from class to work, not getting home until 11 PM then getting up at 5 AM, I didn't want to do that if I didn't have to. I guess my point in that story was I just think it's sad you had to say that you bought it yourself etc. just so people wouldn't call you spoiled, you shouldn't have to clarify to avoid hate.

If you want a car then work your butt off for one haha. Not everyone has the same opportunities so don't expect her life, but you'll be steps closer to your dream car. Don't hate your life. Don't pity yourself because someone else is happy. Yes, she's pretty, but beauty is subjective and everyone is beautiful in their own ways. She didn't "get" her Jeep, but she paid for it with her own money. You can do the same if you save up. You can also have an amazing body too if you work for it. I know it's hard not to feel insecure sometimes, because we all feel it. But putting yourself down because someone else is happy is just an unhealthy way of living.
I have the same car and there really aren't any blind spots. if you have your mirrors adjusted correctly and turn you're head like you're supposed to to merge etc you can actually see really well. when I learned how to drive I used my moms sedan and because of the amount of windows compared to a sedan the patriot is a lot easier to see out of. just my opinion if any ones looking to get a patriot. I know I love it!
Can you make a video on how you saved up money for your car because that would be sooo helpful. Like did you work? was it all just youtube? Did you open any savings accounts, budget, etc
I have the 2017 Patriot. An excellent vehicle for the price I paid, under 20,000 brand new including tax and prep. Coming from my previous 2002 Jeep Liberty, I was surprised the 2.4 liter of the Patriot has about the same acceleration of the 3.7 V6 in the Liberty. Of course, the Liberty keeps going past 90, where the Patriot starts to labor. Handling is so much better in the Patriot, as is the gas mileage. It has so little body roll, where the Liberty had quite a bit. Two things I miss, though. The Liberty had a more commanding view of the road, and it's thick sheet metal and rubber wheel well lips kept it well protected from door dings. Not so for the much lighter duty Patriot. Every vehicle has its pluses and minuses, and the Patriot is a cool ride for under 20K new. Too bad Jeep replaced it with the lesser quality and smaller Compass.

In case you didn't know your patriot has a regular house outlet on the front of the center console and imp pretty sure it also has a built in flash light in the trunk by the dome light (at least my friends 2010 does).

You seem like you have a good head on your shoulders and you seem obviously responsible I'm a little jealous lol. Eva Rohnstrom yeah, why do people keep asking shit like this? That's distracted driving, and distracted driving is the lead killer of teens in the United States. When people are talking while driving, it can double or even triple their chances of getting into a crash. :///
not even lying here got the limited edition 2012 for $9k on a $1500 down payment, it's nicer than this one, full leather seats and touch screen with the nice rims, definitely an affordable first car if you work
For your back seats, you should keep an extra pair of shoes. If you have to go out to a party or something formal, and you forget to bring an extra pair of shoes with you, you'll already have a pair of shoes in your back seat. Everyone in my family does that.
4:06 in Nova Scotia ( I don’t know if & or where else in the world ) while don’t a drivers tests, you have to put the parking brake on when parking or you’ll fail your drivers test.

just a quick question, did you only pay for the down payment? Or are you paying monthly plus insurance? Im almost 18 and can't even afford to be able to pay for my own car. I work so many hours and I still don't have enough :( I hope you don't take this in the wrong it's just a serious question.
Well since she got it from a rental car place it's probably already payed for so I think she probably only pays for her insurance unless she is on her parents insurance which in that case they are paying for it but I think Mel pays for all her stuff so I think that's all she had to pay for when it comes to the car
I know how some people in my family just use a rental car during college or whenever because it costs less and will run better than buying an old car with too many miles on it or doesn't run well. I've heard them having conversations about it sometimes when we're visiting family, so I'm just assuming it's cheaper because it's rental, but idk because I've never rented a car.

Nice car I'm 16 (about to be 17 April 10th) I finished high school a year earlier so when I turn 17 I can go straight to nursing school. My mom gave me her BMW 3 series car & a lot of people think I'm spoiled are rich when all I really need it for is to get back and forth from work and now of course to nursing school without asking repeatedly for her to do it. I pay for my own everything and keep the oil change up to date the car is basically like brand new so it's a keeper!😉

Finally, a real car tour instead of just what's in my car! Very nice Patriot by the way, the base model comes pretty well equipped for what you get. I'm assuming your Jeep has the 2 liter inline four which makes about 158 hp which is decent pick up for a small boxy SUV. Awesome video.
