Some good points probably should do those basic checks every time you go away. No chains on the hitch? They are mandatory over here. And yes we have the breakaway cable as well. I'd use a dry lubricant on the steadies if they started to bind, as dry weather = dirt + grease = grinding paste = excessive wear on the threads. Mind you we've had plenty of rain recently. 🌧
@@thecaravanplace very helpful thankyou. We are currently doing up or first caravan a 1996 Avondale Mayfly Classic25. Been watching for a while and leaned alloy with you tips and pointers on things do far
There is a place in stoke on trent and one in wales, if you search caravan breakers stoke or wales they should come up, just a case of calling around then. You should be able to get a new one, which you know is new and not damaged and you dont spend twoce on used if that makes sense, also windows are sometimes covered under your insurance so worth checking.
Now then mark,I notice from one of your vlogs about tow cars, weights and fines you had a nissan navara in it,well the back end of one and you also held up some towing mirrors,I have a nissan navara and the mirrors I've got a bit small, can you please tell me where you got yours from or could you recommend a good set. Vlogs are top notch, keep up the good work
We do, but beacuse its a commercial we don't tend to put them on, it is a bit of a grey area, but the Milenco 1588 aero did fit ok with a bit of patience. Hope this helps.
Watched one of your video's with reference to caravan tyres, type, load rating etc. etc, and you were using an app on your phone. What is the name of that app?
Hi Mark. I purchased a Swift Alpine 4 in 2019. I have always had issues with the windows not locking in the open positions. Some lock for a little while and then close with a little bit of wind. Do you know of a fix for this? Thanks also for all the good advice.
If its the Alko with the big red or black handle? It's a very expensive tin of not needed. If it's a standard metal non stabilised hitch any general purpose grease will do the job. The Alko with big red or black handle has friction pads to help stop any sway, so make sure the towbar is also clean and grease free. 👍
hi really need some ones help. ACT working fine green light, swift sterling eccles coral 2014. its rattling when i go over bumps.. sounds like a flag pole wire rattling against the pole.. can it be brake pads or hand brake cable, even tho i can a green light when plugging in... this rattle is come from the chassis... deffo sounds like wire banding a hollow pole,,, any clue please.. i am in leeds and need help.. i can do the repair myself if you point me in the right direction.
Could be wheel carrier? You can check the brakes by simply putting the handbrake on, if it goes all the way back with no resistance then possibly brake pads, if the brakes seem to be working ok, its a case of driving and having someone look for the noise. If brakes are working ok (handbrake doing what it should) wheel nuts are all correct torque. Its just case of looking around and seeing what is loose. Slow tow test should be best with someone looking at where the noise is coming from. Hope this helps.
