This is it. This is why I'm taking animation for college. It's been hard, but I need to remember beautiful works such as this, and work harder.

Besides the obviously spectacular art style, the rotoscoped bits were also fantastic. The animation truly complemented and elevated the song.

This song is seriously nothing short of gorgeous, and the music video is just perfection. I always love CaravanPalace's music, it's just that kind of art you can lose yourself in

This reminds me of Icarus...I think that’s his name. The man that had wax wings and flew too close to the sun...except this time is a gorgeous butterfly woman

I think this is about depression and recovery. The woman's red wing like garment is damaged and turns blue, and she descends into a world of suffering with the pinned butterflies, but after dissolving and reforming she grows a pair of real wings that are purple- incorporating both the happy red and the sad blue into something more real than the cloth wings she started with. That's how I feel after my depression recovery- that I am stronger and have grown "wings" that incorporate all the parts of me and are more resilient than the old ones.

This song is crispy

I really love the story the animations tells. How you initially start working towards something and it feels amazing even though the loneliness still hurts, so you enjoy the bittersweetness. But then you stop feeling that way, and now your lonely without anything to distract you, and the person you were disappears. You become something new, something sadder, but still something stronger. Alina Popescu is incredibly talented.

If the animator never seen somebody's napkin getting blown by a wind, none of this masterpiece wouldve exist

So my theory is that this song and the animation is about facing fame, and how it changes your perspective on your creation. The beginning: aimless flight, the wings are covering the body made of doubt and insecurities. Burnout Phase: Meeting fame, finding flawes in the art you created Rebirth: Realising that the creation can not simply be the extension of your being. Your creation- is what you are and vice versa. The true art is born in sacrifice and honesty. Now the wings are as dark at the core as their bearer.

Everybody talking about the video, which, yes, it is absolutely amazing! BUT the song?? This is a musical masterpiece!!❤

The thing I love about caravan place is how chill it is it’s not too aggressive or to sad it’s fits just right and I feel this music Video put me in such a weird world that it felt like I wasn’t even real, what amazing work keep it up!

Wow. This new trailer feature is incredible.

The initial dance reminded me of a flower falling from a height, then she was a beautiful butterfly dancing in the sky. I just like to think that maybe the fallen and dying butterfly is remembering her life in her last moments, when she could fly up high, that's why the title "melancholia", symbolising the powerlessness that befalls into everybody. Then she died and spiraled into a new life, death and rebirth, she was able to reach the sky once again. Or more likely, what in the end reached the sun/moon was only her spiritual form. Edit: she fell because she got too close to the sun and got burned. This reminds me of the myth of Icarus.

There is so much raw emotion in both the music and the animation in this beautiful video.

Caravan Palace is in such beautiful form right now. It’s practically graceful. We are truly blessed to have this music group in our time.

God I know someone already said this, but geez this really inspires me to work as hard as possible on going into animation. The color schemes, the background design, and of course how buttery smooth the animation is… it’s so inspiring.

I've read various comments below about the meaning and message of the song and video. In my case, it has a dimension of hope. In March, my dad suddenly died. A week later, I heard this song. When I watched the video, I had the feeling that it was a sign from my dad. For me, this song gives hope that there is another life out there. Just like in the video at the beginning, we live, have fun, then we die and change into something else. Another world. Does that make sense? I don't know. I know that in my case, it was a clear message that just because we die, it doesn't mean we disappear forever and maybe there is something after death. Hope to meet our loved ones again.
