A quick little video showing an idea I had to make it easy to cover the caravan vents when driving on gravel and dirt roads.
If you've ever driven on some of Australia's outback roadways you'll understand the amount of dust that get's kicked up, and when towing a caravan that dust can make it's way in through the air vents.
In the past we've just covered the vents with paper and stuck it on with duct tape before every dirt road session, but this is both very time consuming, and leaves a lot of tape residue on the van by the end of your trip, so in this video I show you an alternative idea that I had.
Thanks for watching. :)

Wondering how effective this turned out to be. Looks good. Have you tried it out on dusty roads to see how it worked? Thank you

Would like to know if the wind when driving will lift them off!

Sorry for the delay in replying, didn't receive any notifications. Wind was fine they stayed on comfortably at 90km/h, but when using them we generally would on dirt and not going over 70.

How did they go? Do you turn your fridge off while the vent is covered? What side of Velcro did u adhere to van, any reason for that?

I put the hook side on the van as its a little stiffer so the softer loop side was on the covers. I actually kept the fridge on with them on, but would stop occasionally to make sure everything was OK, and it always was. The exhaust vent up top was uncovered so plenty of air was still available.

@Ordinary Family did these work out well for you? Any issues or recommended changes?

Hey buddy. We don't have these issues in the UK! Do you have issues with the famous deadly Australian spiders and bugs getting in your caravan?

Bugs, yes, lots of them! But mainly at night due to lights attracting them. Although I did find a nice big Redback spider hitching a ride on one of our stabilisers.

@@ordinaryfamily769 How the hell do you deal with something like that? I understand they are deadly. We don't have any deadly bugs in the UK thankfully. We have a deadly snake - the adder - whose bite can result in death if not treated. Bug wise, the worst we get is the odd wasp ruining your day on the occasional summer day we get here. (Summer in the UK is essentially two months, and the temperature rarely gets above mid 20s Celsius).
