Carb vg30e with vg33e heads s12 sev6

Well the drive seems good, needs gas now. But here is the current running with the carb project, pump 40 nozzle, 50cc, 69 jets on an 350cfm holley carb. Seems to drive normal now, I need more testing.

Kool setup, question? What size are those hoses that you are running on the valve covers that are connected to those breathers? The reason I ask is because I am looking into running twin oil catch cans (one per head) on my mostly stock vg30e Hardbody. I will be using 3/8 npt barb fittings with transmission hose lines. Thanks.

hello i have a 1995 nissan hardbody with the stock vg30 i want to add some power but on a budget did the vg33 heads fit flush on the vg30 block or did the block have to be worked thanks.

if I recall the 95 vg30 is an OWO style heads anyways, the VG33 will bolt up with no issues, just double check when aligning the coolant jackets with the block they should be the same size as my block was with the heads.

The VG30e and VG33e heads are exactly the same. The only difference is the cam. The VG30 cam has higher lift with longer duration. If you use VG33 heads and/or cams, you have to use the matching crank timing pulley. The VG30 has square teeth on the timing belt where the VG33 has round teeth.

that distributor lookin pretty lol is it still vacuum or electronic now? if you were to add a turbo or S/C, how do you change the timing curve on it ?

How much horsepower and torque you getting with this setup? Asking cause might be putting this in a New Zealand dirt oval class called stockcars.

i have carbed vg30 i want to do the same setup as yours only with 600cfm holley or edel brock carb,, what do you recommend for me to make it work greatly?

When I had the 500CFM hooked up I could never get it out of being too rich and couldn't tune it. Because the motor is around 200ci for the vg33, the vg30 is around 180 something and holly had an ci to cfm calculator, suggesting that around the best application would be between 300-400cfm. This is why I went with the 2bbl 350cfm and that David Carroll with Experimental Engineering also suggested it as well for performance. I've had no issues untill recently at the track I fried all the rod bearings because I was bouncing 7k rpm in a long sweeper.

what carb are you using then?? i saw a guy with vg30 with 600 cfm carb working fine,,, he hooked it up with msd ignition also but without your distributor,, i was thinking of 600 cfm dui davis distributor and msd ignition

I am using an 350 CFM, but if you can tame the 600CFM 4BBL let me know how it turns out I will be interested to see how it is. This is all experimental stuff. I am currently in the works of building a VG33 replacement motor as I spun a rod on this one.

the problem i have is there no space what so ever between the carb and the bonnet ,, my car called nissan cedric you see it in my channel... i need to cut vents to make space.... i have a carb for tb48 engine ( nissan patrol engine ) might be better choice than edel brock?? i will inform you as soon as i do it

I used the spacers for the bonnet, raised it about 1 inch to also cover the DUI dizzy.

This a intake tbi for model vg33 or vg30...i have i pathfinder 1996 engine vg33 ecu from a xterra 2002 tcm from a pathfinder 1996 i made all electrical instalation in the all system

the intake is from a mid 80's pathfinder but it fits like a glove on an vg33 head with no issues at all.

Mine is making the same weird pops or like cut noises out of the exhaust when it’s idling did you ever figure it out or is that just a normal misfire or something

it's a miss fire forsure. check timing and / or carb make sure it's not getting too rich even at a higher rev.

It most likely needs a valve job. Usually, burned valves or a worn cam causes that stutter.

Unless my forum knowledge is wrong, the VG30e heads flow better than the VG33e heads. So, why VG33e heads?

vg33 is a slightly bigger, the bore on the vg33 heads are a few cm bigger both intake and exhaust. just the stock vg33 cams have a smaller duration which makes thing suck.

Vg33e heads are bigger doesn't fit the only internals parts u can use are vg30 cams vg30 oil pump vg30 intake manifold vg30 camshaft vg30 block are smaller vg33e are bigger

it might be on the block, I had the s12 sev6 w block vg30e, the vg33 heads bolted right up with no issues, just swapped the vg30 cams in and called it a day.

Intake is from an mid 80's pathfinder, modified to use with a holley carb. Mr510 does the modifications to one all he needs is a core. facebook.com/ExperimentalEngineering

+Mark Buttry I used the Davis unified specially made for the vg30 with performancedistributors.com they also have plug wires but I think that is you have to call in the order with the dizzy. It's a nice dizzy custom made resembles the msd street fire distributor for 6 cyl.

+Mark Buttry yeah it is a custom made since the saudi dizzy's are extremely rare these days. I know you can also hack up the original dizzy and utilizing the msd 6AL box but I decided to go this route as it's simple.

steven mays a typical 1050-1100 idle for this vg30, even tho I've tuned it down to 950ish now and still running strong.
