I remember hearing this stuff first on this internet radio channel that was based in germany. I didn't know who the artists were behind it but it was the most impressive music I had heard. I saved the radio show and burned it to a cd but the cd degraded and I lost track of this music. Well, I was just surfing albums on my phone the other day and I downloaded an album for solar fields. It had this carbon based lifeforms album on the right hand side of the screen. I downloaded it to have some more ambient to listen to but didn't get the chance to listen to it that night. the next day I did and I was blown away that it was the incredible music I thought I had lost forever.

This has been and still is my official get down to business and get it done album. I have crunched research papers, finalized studying for difficult exams, and overcome many challenging tasks with this gem. I find the album to be extremely motivating, dynamic, and vitalizing with the proper mindset (trust in your capabilities) as it has helped hone my concentration and determination. Thank you, CBL.

Very eloquent and very true... Though I do find myself pausing every time Comsat (58:02) comes on. There's just something about that track that makes me think of Eve or Star Citizen. It's hard not to just sit back and appreciate those vibes.

First came across them in 2011, when a friend who was also part of the Occupy London movement shared them with me. Later, from 2013 in Bali, I would listen to them for my personal yoga sessions. Amazing to grow up with them, to mature and change and always go back to it, always nourishing. Thank you so much to this channel and to CBL for the magic.

While World Of Sleepers is like underwater healing ambient, Hydroponic Garden has a much more spacey feeling. If someone tell me I will fly to the ISS tonight, I will listen to this whole album many hours before it and be totally euphoric. Then I will look into the sky from my window when it slowly gets darker (the "blue hour"). It's one of those ambient albums that makes me wish I would be an astronaut. Since the last few years psychedelic ambient / electronic become more and more important. This band, Solar Fields, Shpongle, Entheogenic, Mystical Sun, Slackbaba, The Infinity Project, Chronos, Androcell, Ott, all great artists.

Don Wright If you haven't already, look for Solar Fields, Aes Dana, H.U.V.A. Network and Asura. All great groups (H.U.V.A. Network is an alternative collaboration between Solar Fields and Aes Dana) and worth a listen. If you really like them, I suggest obtaining the Ultimae Records Disography, or buy some digital albums off of Ultimae Records' website.

Don Wright CBl is what started the mind explosion for me too lol. i've heard a them too, to add to them ..think you guys will enjoy maybe you haven't heard: Aphex Twin - Stone in Focus Aphex Twin - rhubarb Sounds From the Ground - Chrome Horizon ...those are 3 of the best ambients i've ever.. Laughe & Baba Gnohm - Hypnose Phasephour - Unpronounced Numbers and Grains of Sound (artist), Koan, and S1GNS of L1FE. these 3 artists are epic. enjoy w those :) feel free to send me some good ones too.

In the first comment I said emotional attachment.. what stands out so much to me about CBL, is the name of each song, and the philosophical/conceptual realization you have to each of them... for example Photosynthesis, ... Holy fuck? oxygen, energy, air currents, atmosphere, air pressure, radio waves, cutting forests, burning coal, driving cars... like woa. was dropped to my knees from this stuff. Refuge seems to be the most emotional, while World of Sleepers has the clearest philosophy in it. .. Mechanism was a turning point in my life..... damn. and Comsat: lifechanging scary shit.

I've been listening to this album for years and have always loved it, but last night i listened to it beginning to end while tripping really hard on acid and i think i've discovered the meaning (or meanings) behind this album. Starting off in silence, all the sounds slowly building upon eachother, Its as if each song is a different lifeform, species, or aliens (whatever you want to call it) and its like the music is their way of communication and the first song being named central plains, i thought it to be the starting ground for each life form coming together and trying to live in peace. When you listen to each song, just think about how you got from one end to the other. Its amazing how creative it is and it leaves you wondering how silence turned into this insane collaboration of sounds and its just mindblowing. When people say you dont need drugs to listen to this music i agree 100%, but listening to it on drugs, especially psychedelics, you really connect with it and feel a sense of understanding behind it, just like i posted what i thought the meaning behind this album this entire album is. In all honesty, i wouldn't have come to that conclusion if i wasn't on LSD. Artificial Island (Track 10) had me in such an insane mindfuck i was out of my mind.

I grew up with Jean-Michel Jarre; Oxygen, Magnetic Fields, Equinox. For me, this was the deepest I could find, even deeper than Pink Floyd (which I am a lifer Floydian). Carbon Based Lifeforms is on a different level altogether. Different Dimension altogether. This is where My world exists

This album is so hypnotic, magic, cosmic, dark, oneiric, postapocatyptic, mysterious, atmospheric, worrisome, wild, cold, surreal, reflective... and the same way is very subtle, elegant and suprisingly calming. Just perfect, one of my top albums ever. Sad but true is the newest CBL's album has not even an half of THIS atmosphere...
