Woah awesome! I've been listening to this album for years now (its on a randomly selected mix of songs I fall asleep to) and I always thought it was just gibberish! (cool gibberish, tho)
I used to have their albums on repeat when I was doing ecological data analysis in R. I would recommend you also the album "Biome" my Organic Patterns for a similar vibe.
The beauty of their albums is the non-ironic embrace of positivity, mystery : it's exactly what happened to that mid 90's vibe you've been missing for 20 years.
This is one of the reasons I love Carbon Based Lifeforms. I used to listen to this specific video in college to study 3 years ago and still do every now and then. I listened to it when I was taking Biology 101 then when I was taking my first programming class and listened to it again now when Im taking Calculus II.
I don't see the top comment that said this anymore, but the voice starting at 4:17 is repeating the Drake Equation (N = R* • fp • ne • fl • fi • fc • L). The Drake Equation is a prediction model for determining how many other planets in our universe might have life on them. I know someone already commented this, but I couldn't find their comment anymore so I'm guessing it got buried. Hoping this stays up top so more people can learn about this equation, it's really cool.
I agree with you all its an escape for me to listen to any of there albums which are all really good i only just discovered in last month and listen them each day
нет. даже близко- ничего подобного. для меня- это как ехать в машине по дороге, а за окном проплывают пейзажи. no absolutely not. it is like to watch the landscapes when you driving
I listen to ambient music to fuel my rage against the laws of thermodynamics and the futility of mortality. Fuck your healing, you damned hippies. Teehee! ^_^
Photosynthesis has to be by far the most powerful piece of psych trance ever written. Amazing uplifting energy in the midst of any trip. Thanks for this beautiful piece of music.
I agree. When I listen to this album, and most CBL transmissions, I have the experience of being "spoken to" from some other realm. It is an experience of being reminded of why I am here; my purpose, my path, my mission for this most special time here on Earth. Thus the name of this album is so appropriate ... "World of Sleepers" that are being awakened.
I'm 64. I started smoking weed at 14. Started growing weed at 21 until I was 50. Don't miss dope. I have dropped acid (morning glory seeds) and ate peyote. Now, I only do Kratom for arthritis pain and angins from Atrial Fibrillation. I just sit around playing music. Love my keyboards, guitars, latin drums, and harmonicas. Drink a little bit but try and stay clean. Music is the only high for me. And the love of my wife and children.
Estás re jodido. Lleno de toxemia. Practica el SCDA de Arnold Ehret para poder alcanzar la salud antes que te lleve la parca. Y deja la marihuana, es pura basura.
I'd like to thank these music makers, beer brewers, and pot growers and dispensers for this experience. Extra consideration goes to those in the electricity fields, building construction, microchip design, and others too numerous to mention.
In addition, I would like to thank the increasing complexity in human society to enable experiences like these, as well as the symbiosis between psychoactive plants and primates' brain structures.
CBL's music is creative and enjoyable. I discovered you by accident - a good thing. I would like to thank Johannes Hedberg and Daniel Segersted for not taking down the full albums. As RU-vid is becomes unbearable to watch because of the advertisements, I will definitely buy all of your music. I am an artist manager and believe totally in supporting artist creations. Thank you!
Yes. I'm pretty much a puritan that way myself. I never download stuff for free, I always buy the artist's creation, and support them totally. Same goes for games and anything really. Downloading stuff for free is stealing essentially.
Domzdream i know it was a while ago you sent this comment but can i ask then.. is it wrong to steal that one precious moment then?! I know you mean materialistic things. but stealing is stealing essentially! besides that though hope you enjoyed Christmas and all the best for 2017! Provided its free of course lol
Domzdream besides how can this amazing music be shared and loved by everyone if you had to pay. i like the fact he just likes to share his talent and passion. No amount of money could buy that now hey! 😋
Some training is fast and intense. But some is all about resistance and endurance. Listening to CBL when working on your core resistance, is quite a trip on it's own. Muscles burn in pain, sweat drops from your body, eyes are closed, and all you hear is the music. A very interesting experience indeed. So different from running and cycling or even swimming. Just you and the never ending exercises.
Abiogenesis wasn't my first song by CBL, but as soon as I heard it for the first time, I fell in love with it. The best thing about this duet's music is that you can listen to it many many times again, for years, and find something new everytime. Listening to different layers and different sounds. This music flows like a mountain stream
Sometimes I wonder while listening this kind of music, or smelling certain perfumes from the 90's and early 2000...how the hell this society ended up like it is nowdays? Don't you feel people got dumber in the last 2 decades? The old topic about ''the spirit of the age''.
Instrumental music allows a musician’s creativity to run wild, and compositions can be quite abstract, allowing people to interpret music in their own way. This is why instrumental music is so universal, a single instrumental song can be understood and interpreted by anyone on this globe, no matter where they’re from. Happy Christmas Holidays Everyone ! 💯💫💨💥🤌❣👽
Best ambient album ever. Its my muse for writing, and since listening my poetic output has doubled in quality and quantity. The music gives the mind a lot to think about and say about our wonderful planet.
Betula Pendula possibly has the most calm and melancholic ambient melody I've ever heard. Discovering CBL's existence back in 2012 changed my life forever.
Try to listen to this album anywhere you have the chance to put on your headphones and close your eyes, without sleeping. It's an amazing, cleansing head trip.
this is by far the best album i have ever heard. it saved my life because it made me wake up. wake up to be able to enjoy life as pure magic, every single moment with every aspect. it also made me become even more audiophil that i ever thought i could be. luckily i'm going to be a music producer by myself - can't wait to discover all the mysteries of the world of high quality audio. CBL is by far the biggest sonic inspiration there ever was for me.
You said it saved your life. And you said you wanted to discover all the mysteries of of sound. That’s good n great. But one thing you need more than all that is heart. And if you’re not absolutely in love and obsessed I mean be willing to donate a kidney or testicle. You’ll just end up being a producer I’ve heard before. Don’t get me wrong it seems like you enjoy it enough but you need that special electronic element that energy.! My name isn’t Scott I’m just a guy who is absolutely in love with producing the sacred even more than when I got my first DJ setup and downloaded my first DAW. That was more than 20 years ago. Good luck on your journey. Godspeed!!!
What is he said right, but also remember, not every path is made of 100% inspiration all the time. The paintbrush tortures the painter at times, the keyboard haunts the writer. Just move forward and re-evaluate later :) @@scottdavis5604
But we are. Sleep is important because it allows us to regenerate our bodies and most importantly our brains. We all dream. People who remember what they dream are the fortunate among the world of sleepers.
Hands down, one of the best albums mankind ever created. CBL is my escape from this world ... I mean when I listen to "Photosynthesis" it just gives me chills and I find myself wondering in Amazon rain forests .... my goodness.
dont you mean the best album a computer has made?i think humanity creates finer music.when inspired...and with teknology and synthesisers...who knows?lmao it is an amazing creation tho........
@ jeff endersby The computer is the instrument. The human is the user. The only thing that has changed is the adaptation to different methods to produce sounds.
I discovered CBL quite by accident...but I know now that God sent it to me so I could find Peace in this messed up world. Thank You God...I definently owe you, because I am immersed in this music for all time, as a way of tranquillity and peace I have never felt before.
This album is a masterpiece and a phenomenon, I fell in love with psybient since I heard "Abiogenesis". All the tracks are awesome, but "Abiogenesis" is a freedom, a black hole of transcendence, every time I listen to it I have a feeling that I'm falling into space and the whole world is collapsing. Never thought that one album would give me so much joy and a strange feeling that my mind is floating in space and I am just a disembodied spirit. Thank you for that experience, CBL.
For me abiogenesis was like a sober day mdma trip. I was just walking on a bridge on top of sea, and this track started playing. Suddenly euphoria hit me like a tidal wave and all the colours and lights became so friggin' more clearer. I had to lean on to the side bar of the big bridge and just inhale the sea air and enjoy the ride. Eversince that I always connect to this infinite love from the soundwaves (and especially the female vocals after the drop!!) from this specific track. One of those tracks that I personally will never forget, and always tune in to this infinite love.
@@antonablomas I gave it a whirl and yes it was good enough many thanks, if you like ambient mixed with surrealism then try em:t they are old but mind blowing
@@konstantingrudnev8374 thanks for the suggestions! Especially Ascendant I love. But still...CBL sticks out for me with their tracks, I guess because they are also really good at song writing or arrangement which in combination with their ambient/space approach is really great.
When I was trapped on the forsaken space station dug into rusty dust of Mars millenium years far away from my homeworld where nobody knows about me there were only one opportunity to survive. Eat them. All there little creatures which rarely appeared on the harsh surface of those abandoned-by- god planet when cold, cruelly hostile for my vulnerable to radiation oganism sunrays lighted red dunes. I possibly killed all of them, whole species. However its just evolution baby. I never regret my actions.
How? How can music save your life? I am sincerely intrigued. Not trolling. I like this music too, but can't imagine how can it save my life or have any profound effect.
CBL videos are the only places I feel good about reading internet comments. The power of this music to spread positive vibes :) I wish I could up-thumb each and every one.
I listened to this album so many times at so many occassions, that I literally can snapshot each of those songs to any memories from situations that I've had.
I really love this album. It is like underwater ambient and it helps everytime to calm down. Since the last few years psychedelic ambient / electronic become more and more important. This band, Solar Fields, Shpongle, Entheogenic, Mystical Sun, Slackbaba, The Infinity Project, Chronos, Androcell, Ott, all great artists.
if you like "underwater" ambient, try out subnautica's soundtrack apart from the few techno tracks, the rest are ambient-level stuff and it's pretty cool
@@memoriesofmercia3809you must see. What you believe is a fantasy. Invented by goatherders millenia ago that couldn't even count to ten. Embrace reality. MAN is great. My own name, means GOD. Be not afraid. Abandon your fairytales and join humanity in its quest against the darkness of ingorance. Or believe what you like. Your false God cannot stop the inevitability that is progress or time.
good old days, listening to this as a teenager 12 years ago now coming back as an adult . This album brings peace , kindness, love for everything around us . Genial 🧡
Been listening to these peeps for almost a decade and a half. Carbon Based Lifeforms really left their soul in these albums. It's pure, it's majestic, and lends itself very well to a "striving for progress" vibe that's dynamic, but ultimately leans positive. I don't ever feel any sour dips in these albums (World Of Sleepers/Interloper/Hydroponic Garden). They bring a unique soundscape that I've yet to find a match for. I've meditated to these albums, done healing work to these albums. I've found heaven amongst hell with these songs. I hope they do the same for you and may all our circumstances lean positive with a striving for progress vibe, yeah? :)
Oh man, words cannot describe the multitude of feelings I'm associating with this album. The first time I've ever tried MDMA, I was a petite, 18 year old girl, and I snorted about 230 mg in one line. The last thing I was able to perform before melting into an amorphous biomass of serotonin-drenched love particles was putting WOS on full volume. My body spent the night laying lifeless, hot and naked in satin duvet, but I felt like my mind was sober for the first time ever.
The dialogue at the 24-26 minute mark is from the movie Solaris, "there are no answers, only choices" it is the American remake starring George Clooney. I would recommend it. Both the Russian original and the remake.
I really touched openeness as a new young adult for the first time with this album. I was ''out'' many years before and this album helped to feel transcendance again. Still my best ambiant album ever.
For me this is the best CBL release EVER, especially World of sleepers....and Photosynthesis, because it brings me to true inner peace. And thank you for the upload my psychedelic friend :)
My favorite album of all time. Every track compliments each other. Flytta Dig is my top pick there is just something amazing about it. It was the first song i heard from the album and it just touched my emotions. The first time i heard that synth kick in i just got all teary eyed. It just makes me appreciate how wonderful and amazing life and the world is which i feel is what this album represents in general along with the idea of freeing yourself and seeing things as they are.
It is not often I come back to a track a few years later and still love it. Music that does that is timeless, most CBL tracks fit my "timeless" definition.
I'm very impressed with this music; and, "If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is 'thank you,' it would suffice." --Meister Eckhart So, ...THANKS!!
This album is KING. I've been a huge fan of CBL ever since hearing this organic-vibrating masterpiece of an album for the first time 15 years ago. There is soo much feel in this! and they have actually created their own vibe and unique sound(In an industry where most musicians only go for the quick popularity by copying others music). CBL are real creators and its wonderful because its made for the music(not the money), with SOUL. hats of! And by the way; All their albums are great listening experiences. Thank you CBL for being original, for putting your love in this music!
When at 27:35 you suddenly hear "Kan du höja musiken lite bara" (Swedish for: Can you turn up the music just a little) and you realise that you have listened to this maybe 30 times in the last month, and this is the first time you notice this. This stuff is just to good. I mean, Im swedish, and just now I notice that there is swedish vocals/speech in the songs. It just passed me by.
@@berdbrot1224 Honestly, yes. This is amazing music. Its served me well, in that it brings me to a state of mind that lets me be creative, at ease, and yet, despite listening to the music and hearing it, Im at the same time not. Its a new experience for me.
Wow, listened to this 5 years ago, then I listened to the RU-vid recommendations every day since, and finally ended up back here today. It has been an incredible journey of discovery.
As a keyboardist, amature musicsian and perveyor of ambient music "this is the reason" I began playing synthesizers in the late 1970's. Epic composition!
