On the Monday before Thanksgiving, I had quite the scare. I'm not joking, nor am I trying to be dramatic; it was a very frightening experience. I am very thankful that I am still here today to tell you this story and hopefully make some viewer somewhere aware that it CAN happen to YOU and it can happen very QUICK! Carbon Monoxide Poisoning is NOT to be taken lightly. I never thought much about it (if at all) but this experience changed my thought process forever.

Hey Man, I just went through this myself a few days ago, I went to the hospital and mine wasn’t severe but it was considered Acute (11.9%) they hooked me up to Oxygen for 3 hours and let me go home, I’ve had headaches for 3 days now, do you remember still having headaches a couple days after your accident, or were you instantaneously better after being treated? Glad you’re okay man!

I added a CO2 detector to my garage after I started to feel sick from using a kerosene heater while working on my Jeep, all good advise man!

How long were you exposed for? I think I was exposed and had tingling experience in my head for over a week. Wasn’t sick, wasn’t nauseous, just has a serious vertigo-like feeling.

Carbon monoxide binds to your hemoglobin with a 200 time more affinity than Oxygen. Meaning Carbon monoxide will kick Oxygen to the curb and attach to your blood before oxygen, and even if you managed to get away from the source it takes about 5 hours for you body just to get half of the carbon monoxide out of your system and another 5 hours to get half of that half out. If not treated you could have suffered brain damage or even died. I'm so glad you recognized your symptoms and got help. Stay safe and remember carbon monoxide is colorless, odorless gas and symptoms are very like the flu.

Earlier tonight on my way back from a local takeaway for food, decided to park the car in the garage tonight, engine was still cold so cat converter was still useless at filtering and it was in my 98 Starlet I lowered last week, heard rattling in the back when driving wondered if it was something in the boot of the car or suspension related, parked up, left engine on idk why, opened the boot and looked around for a few minutes and found loose screws and other pieces of metal in the spare wheel well so put them above the boot liner so it won't rattle, soon as I straightened back up when standing I felt the world around me spinning, bear in mind I have a decatted Leon Cupra and i've been fine with it on in the garage before but i've clearly never stood right next to the exhaust looking for something before. Went in to eat my dinner and felt like absolute junk took 2 bites out my chicken korma meal and went nah I need to walk outside, took my dog for an hour long walk and spoke to some co-workers doing deliveries at other takeaways to try pass time, went home still felt like shit, better but still felt light headed and even rn I still feel a little bit light header, a lot better than before though tbh just can't seem to concentrate a lot on the screen might just be cause I'm exhausted too tho tbh, no pun intented. Took some puffs out my inhaler just in case too, boutta head to bed soon we'll see if I wake up ;) lol
