This premiere episode is orginally aired April 24, 1978 (on NBC - United States). R.I.P Jim Perry (from the NBC run of Card Sharks), we miss you already. 😭 😭
It is sad to report that James Edward (Jim Perry) Dooley has passed on at the age of 82. He had a long battle with cancer. Perry, was the original host of "Card Sharks" and the remake of "Sale Of The Century" as well as the host of the "Miss Canada Pageant". Perry, was a great host, singer, and comedian as well. He knew when to be funny and he also knew when to be serious especially on "Sale Of The Century" whenever a contestant was on the verge of winning big. RIP Jim Perry.
This is the series premiere episode of the American "Card Sharks" program (as a tribute to first host Jim Perry) and the first two players competing are Susan & Mark. 🇺🇲 🇺🇲
This is my favorite version of Card Sharks. Very simple yet exciting. The only change I would make is for the Big Money Cards to be Green or Gold in color.
@@JonesDylan874 Bob’s version was great until it got “gimmicky” with the Car Round. A car never needed to be added to EVERY Big Money Cards playing. They could have offered a car “if the contestant won 5 games or if they cleared the Big Money Cards with the maximum bet every time in one game”. If not then after they won Game 5 they play for a car. Make it 7 or 8 possible car cards and they get 2 or 3 jokers. But don’t have the jokers in the playing cards themselves. Just give them to the 5 day champions. The jokers skewed the odds in my opinion for the regular game and in the Big Money Cards. Also it was too many rule changing towards the end of Bob E’s run. Keep it simple =more fun. But I will never criticize someone for their opinion and preferences. Because life is too short for us not to love and respect each other and our differences. This is why The Price is Right is not watchable anymore. Too many gimmicks and not too mention that the budget is way out of wack because of it.
Newsflash Card Sharks is coming back this summer, let's hope they take notes from this version "or Eubanks' version" and not the awful 2001 Pat Bullard version.
