I know I might sound like I just want to go and play the old formats but it's stuff like this that makes me wish for the old clans to make a full return
@@nosleepp6744 I'm not really sure since I'm pretty new to Vanguard myself. But I think that, besides the lore, it's to make decks more open to support. By having it by clans, every time they make support, they had to focus on 2 things: every clan and every "main vanguard." Because of this, a lot of cards were only good when in a certain build by nature instead of cleavercombinations. For example, blaster blade support didn't help much for altmile and vice versa. It wasn't IMPOSSIBLE, but it didn't help much. Combine that with how many card series/archetypes, the order cards, etc. there were, it can be hard to support them all. FMP, the nation format allows them to give the nation a support that, while it works better in their respective rideline, they can still be used for others for the most part. Although there still are cards that only work with certain builds because of course, but, in theory, it allows more versatility, for example there is a new card for keter sanctuary that is a G1 and has the skill to gain shield and intercept if 3 G1 are in the drop. This is better for Luard decks, but it can still help ANY of the keter sanctuary decks like MLB, youthberk, ezel, gramgrace, Bastion... maybe not Bastion, but still, you get my point...
I WISHED they make an actual Royal Paladin Standard deck rather than Aichi's hybrid deck like in the end of season 1 in the show. I get the whole nation thing but Shadow Paladin have a full deck of Shadow Paladin supports while Royal got a mix deck along with Blaster Dark. Like come on! I'm fine with Majesty Lord Blaster but at least release full pure Royal Paladin before MLB Bushiroad!
