That cheating Ai is still a great issue. It can be beat but new players shouldn't be expected to build OP decks just to make up for the scummy Ai.

Another Addition, the story takes place between the show's "OverDress" and "Will+Dress" seasons, and even some of the side stories focusing on characters from the show elaborates the situation at the start of Will+Dress.

I wish this wasn't so damn expensive cause this game looks like a lot of fun. I miss using Pale Moon D:

Yep, its great at what it does but man its expensive, the season pass thing is just ridiculous in my opinion. If it goes on sale then maybe you consider picking it up then? Pale Moon doesnt really exist as they used to, they've been kinda rolled into Dark States in vanguard OverDress. Back in the day I was either Kagero or Link Joker which have now been rolled into Dragon Empire and Brandt Gate respectively. But yea, its a good Vanguard simulator but its also way too pricey. Thanks for watching!

@@ConsolesOnlyGaming oh yeah this uses the overdressed stuff. I haven't really kept up with that so this will feel different. Honestly I wish there was more single player content. It sounds like andigital version of the card game. Kind of reminds me of the old yugioh gba games. Great games but not much single player content outside of unlocks. Its unfairly compare to shadovcerse but that dodnit pretty well ....even has a better battle pass....and when you sayba battle pass is better by comparison thats when you know something is wrong ×_×

funny enough, when Set 8 was added to the game, it includes Pale Moon, as a rideline (Well, Silver Thorn Dragon Tamer, Luquier)

Thank you very much for this review. I am considering CFV Dear Days for two reasons. First, because the physical cards for CFV have horrible typography, and are difficult to read, whereas the computer version is much, much easier to read. It is impossible to read your opponent's card IRL, so the best alternative seems to be memorizing the cards you're likely to play against. This is how I would use CFV:DD, to learn and practice the various decks. So for me, I compare the cost of CFV:DD to the cost of acquiring decks from multiple nations, and find that US$70 is less than the price of a single booster display. So I might well buy it, and only buy the physical singles for the decks I actually want to play. Viewed this way, it's cheaper than chasing multiple ride lines in multiple nations. I realize that the price sucks in comparison to other games, but I actually hardly ever play computer games, and aren't interested in those other CCGs. Weird, huh.

A month later now, I have a physical copy of the game for half the price of the English digital version and I think I know one reason why they decided not to make a physical copy in the west because to my positive surprise my copy brought with it some Vanguard cards. I can't read them since they are in Japanese but, SCORE! I do wish they would have made an English translation for the other vanguard switch game that released some years ago... Now speaking of Shadowverse I really love the game we got on Switch and I really hope for a direct sequel to it!

That's cool to hear! Glad you were able to get hold of it for a good price. In regards to the Western release, I suppose they could of just not included real cards in the box or something. I wish it came out physically in the West with no promo cards at £35/$40. Also with no season pass, those sets and accessories should have just been in the game from the start. If they weren't ready then they should have delayed it by a few months until it WAS ready lol. Anyway, its awesome that you got it for a good price. Hope you have fun with it and thanks for watching!😊👍🏻

if anything, the only DLC that is "Completely Unnecessary" is the Rare Card Sets. you can get everything from those DLCs with sufficient grinding, so NOT WORTH IT! Me? I've gotten everything DLC related EXCEPT the Rare Card Sets.

Only card game I started/play is Shadowverse, and I think that's still the correct choice for me. Haven't been playing as much ever since powercreep got out of hand several expansions ago, but I still try fight the meta with my own decks in UL whenever new cards come out. Completely masochistic, but I'd rather not add to the hard meta!
@ConsolesOnlyGaming
@ConsolesOnlyGaming Год назад
That's completely understandable, I assume you're talking about the mobile/PC version of Shadowverse? I've only played the Nintendo Switch game, Champions Battle. But yea, I know the meta burn out all too well. I played real life Yugioh competitively for around 10 years and I hated that all top decks were virtually the same. I always placed high in tournaments but never came 1st and that was because I played non-meta decks. I think we feel the same way about that lol. Vanguard is great game but I play it casually only and this video game version is a good way to do that. Anyway, thanks for watching, I appreciate your time!😊👍🏻
@jamberrycloud

Yup the full-scale phone version. Its f2p model is extremely lenient and can craft all the cards with in-game currencies without never needing to spend a dime (of course you'll need to play the game to get these currencies). Monetisation is completely for cosmetics. I also think card games are *the* perfect phone game - touch interface is completely intuitive, and turn-based means you don't need to the glued to your screen. As for meta, it's pretty much inevitable for any PvP game, since there is no such thing as perfect balance. I know people play to win, but I'd personally rather not contribute to the staleness for something that's only a hobby/pastime for me.

Supposedly the reason it's overpriced is cause of one companies that helped produce it, Furyu. Turns out games they make tend to cost more than average. And this game isn't their first offense.

Oh really? That's interesting and something I've not heard about before. I'll have to look into that myself. The actual Vanguard stuff in the game is really cool though. I just wish there was a little bit more too it. If it had 3D enviroments and you could walk around the world battling NPCs and all that kinda of stuff, I think full price would have been fine. That season pass is kinda rough though haha. Anyway, thanks for watching my review!

Fantastic channel! You video on the Shadowverse Switch game is what convinced me to get that one and I’m happy I did! I have also been playing Vanguard since it started in 2011 and while I did purchase Dear Days I am very disappointed with the price model. It’s downright stunning to me that (in the US) we have to pay a total of $140 to access a little under 1500 cards when back on the 3DS for less than a third of this price we received a Future Card Buddyfight game with 3500 cards and no DLC. Inflation? Or greed? Either way thank you for the excellent video and fair opinions!

Bro I would have bought this game in a heartbeat if it wasn’t so expensive. I love so many card games so when an official simulator pops up I get so excited. Still, I just can’t justify buying a $70 card simulator that even has a season pass on top of it. Like who thought it was a good idea to put a price wall on the digital version of a game that already has a price wall irl.

Its cool, depending on how many times you win/ lose, do the side stories and grind for packs, you're probably looking at around 10-12 hours. Maybe a bit more if you're new to card games. Some people say they have 100's of hours in the game because they enjoy the game so much and just play it like a simulator so they dont have to get their real cards out haha. Anyway, thanks for watching and I hope that helps!😊
@lawrencealcantara

about the pricing issue, yes, it's quite expensive. but hear me out. not only do you not need to buy packs with real money (staring accusingly at MTG Arena), you can't even do that. and one game can net you about two to two dozen packs per game. so completing decks is so easy. that annoyingly expensive battle pass? four expansions. that's still cheaper than buying a physical box four times over, and you'd still not get all the cards one wants. this is literally the example of "i rather pay for stuff upfront instead of microtransactions".
@ConsolesOnlyGaming
@ConsolesOnlyGaming Год назад
I absolutely see your point of view and I will say that some of this games aspects are in-fact, great. I agree that you get a lot of packs, I agree that decks are quite easy to complete and I agree that buying the game and its DLC is far cheaper than buying real Vanguard cards. All of that is true and undeniable. My point was always that the game still costs too much for a video game and too much for DLC in general, regardless of any other factor. I think $70 (£50) is too much for what you get in the game and $70 (£50) is WAY too much for any DLC in any game. Those 4 sets in the DLC should have just been in the game when it launched, and not sold as DLC. I think this game should have been $40 (£35) and should have included those 4 DLC sets from the start. Then it would have felt worth it for me but everyones sense of value is different and I get that. If you think about the Shadowverse Switch game and the Yugioh Rush Duel Switch game, they both have 3D enviroments to explore instead of a flat basic map which is essentially just a jpeg. The shadowverse game doesnt have as many cards as this vanguard game does but the rush duel game has far more. Also, both of those games launched at around $40-$45 (£35-£40) with Shadowverse getting a physical copy in the west. Which ever way I look at it, vanguards value just isnt there for me when compared to other games in the same category. Does that mean its a bad game? absolutely not, its great if you love vanguard but I still think its far too expensive for what you get. I hope you can understand my viewpoint even if you dont agree. Thank you for watching my video and thanks for the comment. I appreciate both very much.👍🏻

@@ConsolesOnlyGaming oh, i COMPLETELY understand. i can't buy the game yet due to it's price haha. i'm just offering an alternative to what are the present practices of card game companies like MTG Arena or hearthstone or Shadowverse for that matter where you need to either hyper grind for packs, or buy the packs outright which tends to be significantly more expensive than this. ....but yes, bottom line: VERY expensive game, but i can probably prefer this over the micro transaction business structure of the three i just mentioned

from experience, I am not kidding, VNs are almost that expensive. I know 5 that are about that amount of money. though to be fair, they are porn games so the price is actually fair. I would say personally that the only booster I care about is booster 5 so I probably don't need the season pass till booster 8 comes out, though that's not listed meaning that either season pass 2 is planned, or they are outright dropping support. also spring sales, no sales at all. I would be lenient with it for a 60 dollar price, 50 is already cutting it loose but I can bear it. however not having a sale after what's basically half a year (I get it's like 4 months tops) is just not a good sign.

Plus the plan of release date of the DLC’s is kind of dumb. I do not why they are elongating the release. Most people are looking forward to set 6 and 7 and really don’t care about the other stuff in between. Set 7 is going going to be released in May is weird. I don’t understand why they just can’t release it much sooner. By the time DBT07 releases, I’m sure players will get bored of the game.
