Sorry but the talking to the Cardo feature is an epic fail. I cannot get it to work when on the bike and moving. At home where it’s quiet it works fine. As a basic helmet comms unit it does the job. Sound is OK but no better than my Sena 10S. In fact the Sena works better when receiving a phone call. Just have to yell or blow hard into the mic for it to answer. The Cardo doesn’t respond to any voice commands. Presumably it works when pressing the button but I can never remember which one to press. That bit is on me, though. FM radio is next to useless. But so to is the Sena’s radio. So it’s not used. Rather, I stream from my iPhone. Should have bought the mesh unit. Needed it on the weekend. But mine was the only one which didn’t have it so I couldn’t communicate with other riders.

Just got this unit and with it, the voice control works. People say it doesn't work but you have to say the commands exactly as listed like you can't say Hey, Cardo next song. say Hey cardo, next track. If you want to call people you can set up 4 people for hey cardo but I just use ok google which also works. Also, check your voice control is set to English UK if you aren't from the US. just leaving it here because I went through a lot of trouble to figure this out. Also the volume settings for music and phone, for example, is different so be careful I almost blew out my eardrums when switching from music to my phone.

This is our 3rd upgrade using the Cardo products. We just upgraded to the Freecom4+ because our granddaughter will start riding with Grandpa this weekend. Installation was pretty easy, and pairing all 3 devices (Grandma has to be connected too, and rides her own bike!) was relatively simple. Strongly recommend!!

I've been using this freecom 4+ for 6 months now and I'm super happy with it, the phone quality is top notch. People sometimes don't believe me that I'm driving on the highway because the wind noise has been filtered out.

@@fastballfilms4214 check whether the connection pin is properly plugged in and that the position of the earphones is nice against your ears and if you still do not have good sound I would ask a cardo dealer for advice and possibly have the warranty repaired

Just got done installing three. Mine, my wife's, and my son's. It went very well with your video, however, I kept getting an error voice, "unavailable" or "busy" when I tried to join the third unit. I tried multiple times and finally installed the app, that was helpful in finding the problem. When I looked at the app, it had me as rider A. The app only has A, B, and C and no callout for the main unit, I realized that my sons helmet had the main unit and I was trying to connect from rider A. Once I figured that out, swapped units with my son, I was able to link all three helmets and it works great! Would have been helpful to mention that in the video!!

I think that voice command should be more tolerant of a bad accent or pronunciation. I'm not native speaker and i have problem with commands. But still thank you for the tutorial, its great.

Please consider reducing the quantity of Jingles. It's really annoying , especially when you have one every 30 seconds.

In the tutorial for adding the 4th rider he is actually using the 2nd rider (Freecom4+) as an intermediary, not the 3rd rider (Freecom2+) as he is saying. It is important, because Freecom 2+ cannot connect to more than one rider as it only has 1 communication channel. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks for this video ! Very helpful. However, I got a question regarding the last point. Pairing with another device from a different brand. As you said, we must click the intercom key for 5 secs and then the mobile phone button. Does this mean that I won't be able to do a call between 2 or 3 cardo units plus the 4th device as a Sena for example? Thank you for you help

My experience, and maybe it is useful for someone else. I have two Freecom4+ devices and each of them had phone paired. One with iPhone, other with Android phone, when using wee had a lot of crackling when connected to each other. When just single unit and listening to music - no problem. Played around with settings, latest firmware, installation etc. but to no avail. Fought with this problem for one full season. Did a factory reset and did not pair phones - crackling disappeared. Now everything is ok. So it seems that "connect everything" is not a good idea with Freecom 4+ devices.

I ride two different bikes. One has a built-in Bluetooth system (Goldwing) the other does not and I just use my phone for that one. The issue is that I have to "forget" My Bluetooth connection with the Freecom 4 on my phone when I ride the Goldwing...otherwise, it won't connect and vice versa when I ride the Yamaha I have to re-add the unit to my cell phone. This is annoying and I wonder if there is a plan to allow multiple profiles on the Freecom 4 and Freecom 2 as my wife has that one? Cheers!! Michael

Hi Thought this video was very good well thought out and great info. My 2 comments would be to re-shoot the whole thing and use a contrast background color (white/nuetral) so we can see the black components clearly. 2. advertise this tutorial on your web site that would save a search or two. Have just upgraded to the Freecom4 + 2 unit system and found the grommet for one of the unit's USB port is defective / broken and will not seal the port. I will contact support for a replacement Grommet with a serial number. Best regards Simon

I have a Nolan helmet. There is padding on top of ear cavities. Should the speaker be underneath the padding or on top of the padding ? If the speaker is underneath the padding, won't the sound be impaired ?

Hi, Our systems are calibrated to work in a noisy environment, so when checking them inside a room, you'll have to speak much more softly. You can also adjust the microphone sensitivity levels in the Cardo Connect app. We hope this helps, Cardo team

You don't show replacing the cheek pads after installing the earphones. Are the earphones supposed to be under the cheek pads? Seems to dampen the volume too much when replacing the cheek pads. Also what do you do with all the excess wiring dangling down below the helmet?

yes, but every time GPS starts giving instructions you will not be able to talk/hear others and they wont hear you (it is in settings in the cardo app)

If I have a freecom 4+ and got 2 riders connected and adding one more with a packtalk, would me and the other 2 riders can go into conference if the one with a packtalk has say 5 riders connected via dmc? Or will it just be the 4 of us?

Cardo Systems just got my Freecom 4+ today! Sound and volume are great! BUT voice command is VERY hit and miss and among other thing’s doesn’t work with Pandora or pretty much any Siri commands on my IPhone XR...can’t find any help. Any specific FAQ or solution you can direct me too

@@particleinthewave8378 The voice commands on our units are sensitive to accents and need to be said in a specific way. The SIRI commands are the same as you use them even without our unit, once you say "Hi Siri" the command opens the Siri on your phone what essentially makes the unit perform as microphone and speakers only. Hi. I bought freecom 4+ but I think the product is very bad. the audio with my croup is pretty bad, always with a lot of noise. if I activate the voice and music function, it is impossible to hear the voice and music. a bad choice. It's ok. If you are going to get video & other extras. You have to spend $300.00 or more. For 150.00 you can hear it up to 35 to 40 mph. Full Volume. Take Volume restriction off on your phone & you will be able to hear little bit better. I say if you are going to use them alot & travel with partner ? Spend the $300.00

Just installed the duo pack and installed the firmware upgrade. Works to perfect in this video, in reality it doesn't. Voice commands do not work. Also the velcro pad on the long mic is stronger then the glue, it tares of the glued velcro from the mic.

Any tips on stopping the constant interference during intercom? I have rebooted, reinstalled on all devices several times. Yet either set gets interference when using the bluetooth intercom. Even if there are no other bluetooth devices turned on and in range. This happens if we are 3 feet or 50feet away. I've not had any support from Cardo so th ought i'd ask here :) cheers

My older Goldwing had the wire connected from helmets to the bike. With that I could talk to passenger and also listed to music. When speaking the music would automatically lower then return to normal volume when chatting ended. Easy. This Cardo freecom 4+ will do one or the other I can chat with the passenger only or we can hear music only. That sucks. What I would like to do is hear my passenger as we have shared music. Forget about the useless instructions sheet that was included No one could read the small print. If anyone can help me that would be greatly appreciated. Spent hours unsuccessfully attempting to link the intercom rider A to B with shared music. Not at all user friendly. Save your money keep the old school wire.
