Thank you Ragini 🙏🏽. There are few certifications in specific areas like anti-money laundering and PCI however on the for payments as a domain I don’t think that there any renowned certifications like CFA for capital markets
Who is the issuer of card? Bank(like.. ICICI,SBI) or Payment card network provider (VISA, MasterCard..). As I was discussing with my friend , who is part of Payment & Card Industry , said that Issue are "Payment card network providers" Like VISA and Amex. Can you please help me to understand.
Card issuer is actually the bank that issues the card. The network helps to facilitate the communication between all parties. Every card therefore needs a network. You are right ICICI , SBI are issuers. Visa and MasterCard are examples of network.
Thnx for reply Saurabh.. After posting this question I was discussing with frnd the same and he told that Network providers provide BIN range to the bank's and those bin's provided to the card holders that's why issuers are network provides.
Issuer is the entity which issues cards . Usually it’s a bank. Acquirer is the entity that acquires or processes the transaction on behalf of merchant. Visa , MasterCard are payment networks that facilitate the entire processes . In some cases they are also called as schemes
