I have 3. One blooms profusely, one grows beautiful thick long leaves, and the other just sits here. They are grown side by side so same conditions. They really are like an oldest, middle, and youngest child!
Thank you so much. I went through some trial and error with lighting a few years ago with the red one. Thank goodness I got the lighting figured out before all the leaves were sacrificed! Thanks for watching!
Thank you SO MUCH for all this fantastic information. I received a few important tips to better grow my plants and hopefully flower them better than I have in the past!
Aloha from Hawaii! Thank you for posting such an informative video! I was gifted my coconut orchid a year ago and it bloomed but there weren't as many buds as yours! Learned so much on your video! My orchid is very dark green with lots of growth, but it sounds like I'll need to expose it to more sunlight to get more buds! Looking forward to watching more of your videos! Thank you!
That was a great walk through of exactly what this orchid needs each season. I'll give higher fertiliser and full spring light a go. Spot on, thank you!
Thank you for the vote of confidence. I feel like I do ok because I can figure stuff out with plants in general. I should spend more time researching specific orchids so I can improve… just need more time in a day as everyone does too. Thanks for watching!
Thank's for this informative video. The meaning of its name split up in parts..Nice and interesting! And I didn't know it came with 2 colour variations as well still with simular coconut scent! Hmmm I just planned to out mine in a very bright light outside beeing bored on it not blooming! Nice Nice video which deserves some more attention I think hope Itll spread!
How strong do you fertilize? I do fertilize mine with 400µS every 2 weeks. Until now, it didn´t bloom, I have it since years. Half teaspoon of wchich strenght? 15 - 15 - 15 + 2 or what?
I am not having any luck with mine which resists blooming and I have had it for several years😩. I understand they do not like to be repotted and I did that 2 years ago😱
Hi. Sorry to hear that about your max ten. From my experience, repotting is never a problem, I have repotted (gently) during the winter and it still reblooms in the spring. It is the lighting that is the key. It need very bright light in the winter and the early spring right before the buds form. Once the buds are forming, bring the plant back to lower light. Both my yellow and red max ten are in buds and even more than before. I will be posting a video on them on the next orchids in bloom. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your detailed answer. I live in Southwest Florida and it gets PLENTY of sun😍. I have had it for over 5 years and it never bloomed😩. Not sure if it’s the repotting which set it back or the fact that I divided it? I also feed it, once a week, so, maybe, I should increase the feeding?
@@bibicheknauf4163 So sorry for the late reply. Repot usually doesn't cause a problem if root damage is minimal , I repotted my yellow one just last year and it's blooming better than ever this year. Yes dividing is a big issue. It does not bloom on the first pseudobulb at the base, it blooms at the second or higher so I don't cut mine down. It likes feeding fair amount frequently but not too heavily. Good luck. I just posted a video on my yellow one, the blooms are really full, hope you get a chance to see the video.
