Thanks for the review. I get tadpoles out of a local ditch on a busy road, typically late in the season where there would not be time for them to survive. I raise the tadpoles and release the frogs the next spring at the local park. I keep the baby tree frogs in a small enclosure with moss, isopods, water dish.... I buy a couple fruit fly cultures and then start making my own, it's really easy and they just keep multiplying. I mist more when they are smaller. As they grow up their environment can stay reletively dry as typically they would be in the trees more. I hand mist daily in the late evening or night which will help them become active for feeding and swap out for a clean hand mister weekly. I have gone a couple weeks without misting, it's not a problam as long as they have a place to soak. I make sure their ceramic water dish is a good size so they can completely submerge in, float in and just hang out in. I use filtered water for their water dish & misting. They love soaking in the water to hydrate and will often poop in it so I change it out almost daily. I don't use a bioactive enclosure once I get past the fruit fly feeding stage. I use driftwood for climbing and plastic plants in ceramic vases for them to hide in and a reptile mat. I keep the ground area free of debris so the crickets and cockroaches have very little hiding places. I use a heating pad under the enclosure/water dish in the winter time with a layer of aquarium stone under the reptile mat to dissipate the heat. I clean the enclosure out about once a month with Dawn dish soap and water.

1around 1:30 he says feeding is like dinners and sides, i eat fries for dinner sometimes, thats means the gray tree frog can eat mealworms only (this is a joke)

I've been keeping a male grey for a year, in that time he has doubled his size.

Every year in spring these fellers sing their hearts out for a mate, odds are its a complete male cloaca party, all the females ive seen hang around streams or big puddles bordering on tiny lakes. It seems males are more adventurous in seeking mates, and I'd think my eastern ontario geography with frog mating behavior is the exception, not the rule.

I currently have 5 grey tree frogs I've had for a year. Some were found in plants that were on the deck and some were found on the kitchen window at night looking for dinner and brought in before they were dinner. All were babies and all are have thrived so far. I have a pathos ivy growing in the tank which i will be changing out for the peace lily now because the pothos is taking over. I've been feeding dubia roaches, mealworms, black soldier flies, small hornworms and occasional waxworm. My question is can they have insects from outside still? Like moths and other insects they were eating on my kitchen window or do I need to worry about parasites the insects from outside might have? I know with my bearded dragons outside insects is a definite no but were captive bred, my frogs were not. Also do I need to add calcium or any other vitamins to there food? They are in a window so they have the natural cycle of the sun but also have uvb lights, misting system and I'll be adding a fogging system. Anytime the humidity drops too low I have a very small humidifier I set in the bottom to bring it up but it rarely happens. Currently they are in a 24tx18wx12d but I'm working on converting a 75 gallon tank to use vertically. I'll lose width but I'll gain a lot of height and a little more depth. So I guess on top of the questions about insects and supplements, do I need to set my misting system at the top of the taller enclosure or put it about 3/4 of the way down to leave them a dry area at the top? Didn't mean to ask so many questions, i just want to give them the best. Thank you for your time

You should consider a terrarium for the tree frogs for better ventilation because they can get bacterial infections easier in aquariums. I’d recommend using Mazuri aquatic turtle diet and high calcium diet along with Reptocal by Tetrafauna with D3. You can weigh your frogs and have their poop sampled yearly which will help tremendously. I’d recommend a fecal sample at least once a year. I wouldn’t risk feeding outside insects because of pesticides and insecticides that could poison your frogs incidentally. You can keep the misting nozzles higher up and adjust them down. I’d recommend the MistKing starter misting system for that size enclosure. I actually have an affiliate link with Josh’s Frogs, so if you order any insects, plants, etc. from them it supports the animals on this channel. I’m not pushing it, I just never mention it lol. Hi, I’m fairly new to grey tree frog ownership and I was wondering if my little guy would benefit from having a buddy in his tank or if he’s content on being alone? Appreciate any guidance you can give 😊

How big is the enclosure? The more space you can provide the better for the frogs. White’s tree frogs seem to enjoy company. Gray tree frogs might be better with fewer in an enclosure so two might be good where a group of a few white’s tree frogs is fairly common.

Thanks for the reply! We are currently using an old 20 gallon tank that we used to have fish in, for him. At most I was thinking of adding only one other buddy for the space that we have right now. But I would only do that if he would benefit from the company.

Hi, I have 2 baby gray tree frogs from tadpoles. They've been on dry land for about 2 weeks now. I put some mealworms in a little bowl for them and even tryed hand feeding them but they still won't eat anything. I was just wondering if you have any suggestions?

Hello, I would recommend fruit flies from Josh's Frogs. They are small enough for the baby frogs to eat.
