Ruud Gullit takes a look back at the greatest shirts of his career including the 1988 European Championship Netherlands kit and AC Milan from the Champions League winning campaign.
True legend and I have to agree Sampdoria is the ultimate jersey didn't like the idea of Blackburn style away kit far too close to Bristol rovers for a City cider boy lol thanks guys
I’ve got a few Italian shirts (originals) but still need a Samp one, long sleeve shirts hard to get hold of, can get a few on eBay now and then for fairly decent prices
What officially was Holland's away shirt for Euro88?...from my understanding it's still pretty vague...was it the blue version of the home shirt?...or a whole white version?
At 18.15, "which English team asked Sampdoria if they could wear the Sampdoria's jersey?" I cannot catch the answer from an audience at 18.22. Can someone please help state the answer?
Matlock Town perhaps? I don't know if the answer was meant seriously. Ruud Gullit mentioned the fact that AC Milan have played so many European Cup finals in a plain white shirt. I thought it had to do with some kind of superstition. Milan lost their first European Cup final while playing in their traditional 'Rossonero'. They won their second final (against Benfica) playing in a white shirt. From then on, almost all of their European Cup finals were played in a white shirt, the European Cup final of 68/69, the Cup Winners Cup finals of 72/73 and 73/74 and the Champions League final of 92/93 being the exceptions. Coincidentally, they lost two of those four finals. Playing in white, AC Milan won 6 out of 8 finals.
I forgot to mention the Cup Winners Cup final of 67/68: Milan won this final, playing in 'Rossonero'. The balance: -'Rossonero'-shirt: won 3 out of 6 -plain white away shirt: won 6 out of 8
