An Garda Siochana is hugely understaffed, gards are not seen from day to day and thus it is a reactionary force of immature officers unaware of the fundamental laws that govern Ireland.
If it’s so difficult to recruit Gardai that you have to go to asylum centres to recruit new Gardai then there must be a reason why people don’t want to join. Poor pay and lack of respect from many in the community and massive oversight by GSOC are putting people off. They are now so desperate that they have to advertise. Back in the 1970s & 1980s ten people applied for every vacancy.
Why does he have to declare that he is an openly gay Garda ? He shouldn't have to say that unless it's to show that there is no restrictions being gay and joining the Gardai.
I know a lad that always wanted to join up,on the first day the sergeant said im only asking you one question, psyched he said fire away, are you honest,i am. Next.😂😂😂
I want to start training, i have invested 3 years trying to get in. My medical history is what is creating a delay. I am fit and ready....start, but things beyond my control are preventing me from just doing the physical test and waiting to start. Not fair sometimes.
After a set amount of years, like 3 years of working for the Garda, you can ask to move to a different unit, whether that be a detective, the emergency response unit or the armed forces.
I always Wanted to join Garda Siochana now would be a great time for me to join because in a years time I won't be able to as 35 I have Recently Missed My chance to apply as I Missed the deadline
