Lyrics: I feel so unsure As I take your hand and lead you to the dance floor As the music dies Something in your eyes Calls to mind a silver screen And all its sad goodbyes I'm never gonna dance again Guilty feet have got no rhythm Though it's easy to pretend I know you're not a fool I should have known better than to cheat a friend And waste a chance that I'd been given So I'm never gonna dance again The way I danced with you Time can never mend The careless whisper of a good friend To the heart and mind If your answer's kind There's no comfort in the truth Pain is all you'll find I'm never gonna dance again Guilty feet have got no rhythm Though it's easy to pretend I know you're not a fool I should have known better than to cheat a friend And waste a chance that I'd been given So I'm never gonna dance again The way I danced with you Never without your love What am I without your love? Tonight the music seems so loud I wish that we could lose this crowd Maybe it's better this way We'd hurt each other with the things we want to say We could have been so good together, We could have lived this dance forever But now, who's gonna dance with me? Please stay I'm never gonna dance again Guilty feet have got no rhythm Though it's easy to pretend I know you're not a fool I should have known better than to cheat a friend And waste a chance that I'd been given So I'm never gonna dance again The way I danced with you Now that you're gone Now that you're gone Now that you're gone What I did that was so wrong? So wrong that you had to leave me alone?
@Skinny Daniel yeah and then cheating on your wife with a woman in a body suit that was on a boat with her hair in the wind and then you know "IM NEVER GONNA DANCE AGAIN GUILTY FEET HAVE GOT NO RYTHM"
@@lillianshaw4896 Maybe, but i hate to think that some couples use this song just for do love while it's a song for remember your entire past, maybe nobody realize that.
fun fact: at kindergarten before we were put to midday sleep, our kindergarten's teacher used to put this song on to calm us down, and this song was stuck in my head for the whole 3 hours that we had to sleep (but we almost never did :)
Does anyone else think slowing down a song gives it a nice, soothing, sensual vibe and a vaporwave one? I know the genre is more nuanced than just "slowing down 80s/90s songs" but oooh, it always makes me so nostalgic for the vaporwave era lol. So good
3:11 Tonight the music seems so loud I wish that we could lose this crowd Maybe it's better this way We'd hurt each other with the things we want to say We could have been so good together, We could have lived this dance forever But now, who's gonna dance with me? Please stay
I got my first kiss to this song. It was my school's big dance, homecoming or something. We were slow dancing. She looked so gorgeous that night, red dress, black highheeles, her hair was so dark and straight. I was actually terrified that she was too good for me, never have I seen a girl so beautiful. I had my eyes closed as we slowed danced back and forth, hands on her hips, you know the deal. I opened my eyes to see her, I never felt safer, all the stress and melodrama of teenage life slowly faded away. She put her hands on my face and she closed her eyes I did the same and we shared a kiss. It was magic, she layed her head on my chest and we hugged for the rest of the song, like nothing else mattered except for this one spectacular moment. The song echoes a new sense of confert but also a strange feeling of pain for a simpler time. Thanks George Michael. RIP
I really love that the slowed+reverb genre really adds a whole new depth and meaning to every song it touches. I've always known this song's lyrics to have a sad meaning, but I'll admit, the saxophone, though a bop, doesn't totally help in showing that his sad is actually sad. But now slowed, this is the first time i was really able to feel this song's sadness. damn
Guys, this song is really sad. He's talking about how he cheated on his partner with their friend. It does have a sexual background. Most of this song is about how he felt guilty for cheating and never will do it again.
Yeah. I remember one say I was listening to the song and when I looked at the lyrics I was like " This ain't about romance. " But its ok I like to listen to this and think of it as a romance song. ❤
My entire life led up to me listening to this song today. And now I ask myself, why haven't my ears been blessed with hearing this masterpiece much sooner?
You just can’t ignore George Michaels brilliant talent! He was an amazing singer and man. He’s one of those singers where he can use someone else’s songs and make them better (I know this song is his), but no one can sing his songs better than him.
i mean he was cool. bit of a random comment though. do people say he's a bad singer or untalented? im just curious because maybe his public image is different outside the UK?

A lot of people just say things without taking a chance. I'm sure if they literally just listened and with over thinking they'd end up loving it. Especially this amazing song.
Feel free to disagree, but I'm 99% sure this isn't a song about romance, breaking up, or cheating, it's about ruining a friendship by attempting to turn it into a romantic relationship. It's a song about unrequited love
Say I’m weird I don’t care 🤷♀️ but I started listening to this song when I was just 6 or 7 and fell in love with this good music. I use to play it everyday morning going to school 😭 now I’m 19 and this song still hits home ❤️
today my lovely, sweet, bright and little kitten died. she was only 1 year old, and i couldn't save her. this is so hurt. i'm so sorry, my little sun. i'm so sorry. i will never forget you. i love you so much.
The beginning of this song sounds like when you reminisce about all the sexy times you had with your partner, but now they’re gone and with somebody else and you’re alone missing them
