The Cariñosa (Spanish for "loving/affectionate"), is a Philippine folk dance introduced by the Spaniards in the 16th century during their colonisation of the country. The music is inherently European, and it is a courtship dance involving a boy and a girl dressed in traditional Filipiniana attire.
