After watching your video I made a trip to Trader Joes and now I'm looking at my big pot of Caribbean soup, my husband is going to love this. He's being introduce to my Caribbean culture through his stomach. Thank you :)
I'm haitian and this recipe is the same in my country except for the coconut milk. We put coconut milk in beans puree. But good recipe bro, thumps up. .
Thanks Sir I tried your Caribbean chicken soup recipe and just added yam, dasheen, eddos, mixed beans, chayote, green banana & everything used and more and it's not even done yet. But smells and tastes amazing already thanks for the helpful tips... 😉 keep up the good work
THANK YOU, awesome video. Finally a very detailed video explaining how to do everything, because a lot of people don't know how to peel all those veggies.

hi chris, I am so glad you made these videos. been trying many of them out,, but my favourite has to be the soup, the caribbean chicken soup. my mum used to put macarooni in it too, boy those soups were so tickkkkkkkk, full up all day. I like this recipe ...going to make some today, and take it to my son; he lives on his own, and works very hard. |Almost 3hours away drive. But its well worth it. Thanks chris for these vids, theyre fantastic.
I've been doing all these trini dishes u have the traditional way ever since I started cooking, I have tried all ur twists or non traditonal ways and I LOVE EM'!!!! Different taste that sets my cooking aside from the rest of the family :)
I just want to say how mush I appreciate all of the time and effort you put into your dishes...Thank you so much for taking the time to share something that obviously you are passionate about...Cooking! Hi Chris Its 2.45pm EST, 09/04/2014 and I have just finished doing my soup. I used steak beef and added most of what you said and cooked it like you did. Didnt add the coconut milk, though i will next time. Being half Trini myself, I should have done this ages ago, but living in the UK there is a lot of temptation. Well no more. Im a soup convert and im gonna watch and follow all the lovely meals you make. Bye Bye fried chicken shop, fish and chips and Kebab shops. T&T all the way hey. Thank you for your wonderful video's and cooking skills. Please come to the UK one day or start Carribean pot shops everywhere.
I just followed your recipe and added my own little twist and it came out amazing !!! Thank you! Btw it was my first time making Caribbean soup. Your tutorial was very easy to follow !!! 👍🏽👍🏽

Hi Chris, I love your soup recipe. My friend Mel showed me a similar recipe but she took a lot of short cuts. She did not add all the delicious herbs you use. Once I made your soup with the recipes it made a difference. I made a large pot and it was gone in a day. I got soo many compliments that I am making it again this weekend. It may be a staple Saturday dish. I love your youtube page. Keep the videos coming. mmm so good.
Chris American soup doesn't even compare to this Carribean cooking....This here is so much more flavorful....please do a review for how you make coconut tart or fried bake with the cod fish in it...I also love dal....
Love the recipes but can i make a small suggestion? Could you quicky give the equivalent measurement in powdered form for some of the ingredients? For example, when using thyme, how much should I use?
I often make this and put some tomato puree in as well just to give it a bit of a twist or some fresh lemon squeezed for a zing. Love this recipe and mouth watering already oui!!!!
Hi Chris, This soup looks good but I am not sure about the coconut milk. I have never seen a soup done with coconut milk, will it taste bad without the milk?
Hey Chris, i'm having a hard time find those promento peppers in Toronto. Which store did you go to for those ? Also would there be a big difference without the coconut milk, i'm not a fan of it
looks delicious, i do use pumpkin in my soup but as im out of pumpkin, i was just wondering if their were any alternatives that i could use to give of the same flavour ?
