My dad went to this party..I'm jealous haha....Lucky enough I've learned from my dad how to "behave" at a techno party when he took me to my first rave/party when I was only 10 years old. Now I'm 23 and in the middle of the party scene. Every weekend I'm there.... trying to keep the same vibe from "back in the days" still going. I love it...And every weekend a tiny bit more... again and again.
I was here. Wow I experienced this. This vibe is just hard to find nowadays. Could you imagine this happening now,?! It should, for the millennials whom missed out on this. It's was epic, lots of epics.
in 2001 I am 3 years old in today 2016 I watch dance valley 2001 Carl cox my favorite music I am in India Mumbai i am Muslim but music is very nice thank you Carl cox
@@jenmurphy5133 It's hard to find good techno these days. There are still several decent players. However, the BPM has been lowered massively and even legendary techno DJ's such as Carl Cox are normally playing to crowds to suit an agenda and often an audience in which many are not devoted 'tech heads' like back in the day. I know many DJ's who cannot play the kind of style and speed in which they'd like to, as they have to stick to what the promoters of the night/event tell them to stick to, as it's their job and income at the end of the day. The best way to hear them in their true form is when you privately hire them so they don't have to play to the prescribed sound which passes for today.
This is my type of techno. I was just 3 years old. Wow the atmosphere is insane I can just feel it. I’ll be seeing you this weekend Mr. Cox..oh yes oh yes 😮💨
@@johnnormal1422 maybe they are now, but back then, almost 20 years ago, those festivals were pretty unique. Creamfields wasn't the only dance festival back then you know? and it wasn't all that great in the beginning stages either. As I'm belgian, let's talk about Tomorrowland… Tomorrowland nowadays is rubbish compared to the beginning years. It used to be partying and having a good time, now it is, like you said, all about flexing. Tomorrowland and all the old skool electronic festivals in the early 2000's were about having fun and having a good time dancing, not like the shit we get now. I stopped going to TL years ago, not the same vibe it was before! God i miss those days… As I'm typing this, its hitting me that I'm getting old (40years old atm to give you an idea)
Billy 'only vinyl' Nasty is a close second ! Cox started mixing 3 decks so gets the best ever nod over Nasty. I still like DJs to play vinyl, especially excellent techno

+mi ja Back then much more people took proper party stimulants such as speed and mdma(exstacy) i don't think people do any more there isn't quite the rebel spirit that was around for us older people who were young in the 90's/early 2000's
I went to this Dancevalley back in 2001, and still go to some parties and festivals nowadays too. XTC is still very populair here at the moment. Most people are still on stimulants.
inepthabit Yeah man me too, last party luminosity beach festival 2016(june) next party FSOE 450, then gatecrasher, then my 40th at digital society in leeds, -x and wizz for all of them.
Daniel Ellis Nice! But yeah, I'm not aware of the situation in England, can just speak about parties in the Netherlands. You were in Bloemendaal beach at Luminosty though and many people weren't on xtc there? I was at a party at Woodstock at Bloemendaal beach just a few weeks ago, Voltt, and was actually surprised to see how many people were on something, really noticed because I was sober. To be fair though, Luminosity and Voltt attract very different crowds, as the music is very different from each other. Woodstock also attracts a very different crowd than Vroeger and Fuel.I never go to trance parties, just techno and tech house.
inepthabit Yes there were many on the xtc at luminosity although i was totally blasted on it i could still tell. Techno these days doesn't seem much like the old techno that i was into-correct me if i'm wrong but techno seems pretty soft these days, any examples of current techno you could give me?? I don't think i like tech house but i don't follow it or know the artists. Parties in the netherlands are great-i love your country.
I seen carl Cox at tribal gathering 1997 at Luton hoo , was a awesome set , carl cox is one of the best DJs and he does drag racing .... Big up big man x
I was at this event , rained like fuck after it loads of people stranded in the pouring rain ,was worth it, festivals then were top class dance valley was fantastic
No phones no social media no fancy equipment. just bouncing techno and ravers. These were the rave days best era ever for techno. Coxy with a load of others. They don't throw raves like this anymore
People now at their 40's. Damn how that sucks when you think about it. I was having the best of my life in 2001. Totally going off with trance/hardhouse/house/dnb/techno. I'm still doing it, but it's not the same.
Estuve en dos festivales aquí en Colombia, ya hace varios años, viaje unas distancias largas para verlo mayormente a él y fue genial de las mejores fiestas, grande Carl🥂
this techno is still around but most techno producers have lowered the bpm a tad and djs follow step. why: because real techno like this, although amazing, its loyal fans are a minority. it is too speedy for the majority of party people who are loyal to the various house subgenres which consistently vibe well in big city clubs worldwide. thats why cox, richie hawtin, g velvet etc all play tech house and minimal techno. a Hardcore techno fan can handle or enjoy a tech house or progressive long set but not the other way around.. theyd have a panic attack.
is it really true? Here is a good example of oldschool acid techno set vs "majority of party people". ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Enf4v3SvygU.html. it took a while for them, but many of these people remembered this set as the highest point of the festival.
@@dondarreb5536 Sorry bro i would not agree. This is some genre but not full techno. This is acid tecno something. Not bad but listen to this.
