Boom, straight down to business, no messing about - brilliant opening! Fantastic selection of tunes, transported me right back to my clubbing years in NL in the 90’s. Who else is dancing around the living room by themselves to these incredible beats?😂
Its like he knows exactly what we need to hear at a certion time Thats pne Badass , funky dirty beat hit us in the head master.Back in the day in New York threre wrrent a ton of black guys some no doubt. I love that he is like our house God we all feel the love n wanna shake our ass to these nasty treats he forever brings us
Yep, I was there in the 90s as well, many times seen him in club Nighttwon in Rotterdam Carl just still has no equal. He distinguishes himself as he doesn’t do this for the money, fame or ego or whatever. Just because he honestly loves what he’s doing, fully dedicated to his unlimited love for this music. Performing for only 10 people he can do the same as for 10000, already for >30 years lonely at the top now. Go for 30 years more I would say!!
I talked down on ppl who listened to this type of music when I was younger.. man was so so immature. I found myself listening to every one of his sets. And he's black which I never knew! Music is music and this is a constant party. Thank you Carl Cox for expanding my mind. That 9 hr set was epic
Yes n no on long island n NyC it was prodominately white people ,but a couple time a couple professional Black dancers ripped it up to yhis music it was awesome
How come this years EXIT festival has taken everyone's techno blindfold off??? Beyer's set in my opinion is his best set I've heard in years. Rising BPM's and more techno orientated. I'm a 90's techno baby so don't judge me lol. Loving the sound coming back to it's roots, always was techno nothing different. It's a vibe that is so original and holds it's own ground that it never needed to change and never has done, it's timeless. Much love to the 140+ BPM crew, TECHNO.
Techno doesn't have to be 140+ BPM... In fact, BPM has nothing to do with it... You can just feel it! And this set is 130BPM btw. Old school vynils were around 135 BPM, although it seems more because of the feel of the hats and snares! ;)
@@Casi001 The vibe and feeling is a huge factor I agree fully, which directly comes from the production techniques of half bar/1 bar motifs, 16th's patterns, rapid delayed hats, washy layered percussion loops the list goes on...but BPM does also have huge contribution to techno for me, the energy completely moves to other realms at 135 and up you can't deny it. Lots of modern techno at 126 -130 sounds like hard house (and I'm not talking about tidytraxx hard house, I'm talking 4 am The S Man hard house) like what Sasha, Digweed , Lawler and the likes of Fontaine threw in their sets when they took them in a tough direction, it was never techno then and I don't see it as techno now. I do understand it's the feeling as you say but if Lawler played a 126 dark house track with techno production elements, nobody would of labeled it techno, they'd of said it's house with techno elements. So in regards to BPM I still feel in my heart to a certain extent it defines techno for me, and this could be argued till the cows come home it's just my opinion. Techno is going back to it's old school roots of higher BPMS and it's a breath of fresh air from all this modern techno that's been completely slowed down to appeal to wider audiences that's it. I'm not saying this is sacred scribes of techno it's just my experience. So for me, Techno and the BPM's mean a lot. But if you've just started listening to Drumcode over the last few years, they won't. Great point about the feeling though, 100% agree.
@@jodiescott01 don't take me wrong, I love higher bpms and I too love the fact that some artists are going back! This is the magic of music, different individuals have different interpretations and while bpm is more important for you, for me is more about the other elements. And I also agree that techno below 130 doesn't really do the job. I find myself loving some tracks below 130 but when mixing I allways take them up a notch to 130 or above :) much love and stay safe!
Oh yes Oh yes!!! Thanx Carl for the great mix again. Saw you so many times around 2005 - 2010 in Amsterdam but hate it that I can't remember when this was... We were so spoiled@!

Can someone PLEASE tell me what remix of Sacred Cycles he's doing at 41:30 ?? I have been searching high and low for the remix and haven't been able to find it anywhere. Neither Shazam nor Soundcloud have been able to help. Anyone know what it is?
