Me too. Elementary memories. I looked these old songs up now I live in Greece . In those days we heard beautiful songs. Now I dont listen to music. Its a world wide problem with the music industry
I remember hearing that song when it came out in 1974,. I was 11years old. It still is a great song. I still enjoy hearing it,. 44 years later. Thanks Carl Douglas.
this song was a sellout crowd every where it played through out the 70s, 'this tune and Rock the Boat were the tunes that ushered in the discoteque era and all the other grate disco tunes followed them up to the mid 80s and then hip-hop and dance-hall came on the scene.' I am now 57 years and i will never forget all the peace love and happiness of that era of music we had😎🤓😁😀😄😚🤗😅😆
Man, I couldn't have been no more than six or seven years old when I first heard this song. Hearing it today just as well as yesterday or yesterday's, and still sounds good. It brings like so many memories. Unfortunately, music of this style, and heart and soul is not being created in today's time. I believe Bruno Mars is a lot closer to bring it back that form and that style. And I'm old school and his music just appears to me in the old school way.
J'étais encore gamin quand mon père me faisait écouter ce disco.

Biddu Appaiah (born 8 February 1945) is a British-Indian singer-songwriter, composer, and music producer . His international breakthrough came in 1974 with "Kung Fu Fighting" performed by Carl Douglas. Biddu asked Douglas to sing the vocal on the song "I Want to Give You My Everything." Biddu needed another song for the B-side to the single, so Biddu came up with a melody for some lyrics Carl had written about the then trendy martial arts craze that was sweeping the United States in the 70's. The resultant song "Kung Fu Fighting" was recorded in a mere ten minutes and was released as the A-side to the single. He also launched the careers of other British disco stars such as Tina Charles, helping her sell 36 million records within a few years, and Jimmy James.scored soundtracks for several British films such as The Stud (1978) and produced a hit song for the French singer Claude François.
this goes out to all the kids who watched enter the dragon and tried to mimic Bruce Lee's moves,I was one of those kids and to this day i'm addicted to watching the fight scenes in martial arts films and samurai movies and that's what got me into things like boxing and fencing, thank you Carl Douglas for inspiring a whole generation of kungfu fighters...
Lord you were in the army in 1976. I was in grade school. I later joined the US Army in 1992 Ft.. Jackson, South Carolina is where I did my basic training
Prima Sheyla!!!
Two of the greatest generation's we're the 50's and 70's, I grew up in the 70's and every time I here this song I take a trip back in time. I remember going to drive inn's and watching a Bruce Lee on the big screen, kids jumping from the hood of the cars kicking and throwing punches 👊 time has went by so fast but every time I hear this music I can't help to smile!!
As a kung Fu guy since my childhood, this song comes and go every time something ''special'' happens in my practice. Thank you. This music is part of my ''kung fu'' :) .
1974. Me as a teenager hearing this song on a 45 rpm record for the first time after watching another magnificent episode on TV of Grasshopper in the Old West. Got so excited, I kicked over a vase on the stereo. Not such expert timing. But in 1999, I traveled to Henan in China and saw lots of wushu. Stayed in the Middle Kingdom for a dozen years. Still kickin' the Chinese cultural groove to this day.
I’ve been into martial arts for over 30 years and kung fu the 5 animal style is my primary style . I love hearing this song. I remember when it came out in the 70’s I was a boy but I pretended then I was a kung fu fighter like in the old movies
@@amarildooctacilio9589 not for about a hundred years? The diaspora began when China took notions to kill the kung fu off and the priests and fighters fled to other countries. Now while everybody has a chin lineage, there are generations of westernization and teachers. We have the canonical works that preserve the techniques and tactics
@@dolcevita2352 the song still plays on plenty of "oldies" stations and sites. My kids, nieces and nephews ,etc weren't around when it was debuted either and the second they hear it they're on their feet dancing and singing along to it.😉🤪🤔
This song came out in the 70's the year when karate and Kung Fu movies were at fever pitch like Big Boss and Enter the Dragon with Bruce Lee electrifying the screen with his super fast hands and feet the song certainly takes me back to the 70's as I was a Bruce Lee fanatic nuff said
