2024,, it still IS the MUSIC, and the passion of the singer. She always give it her all. Listen to her again, and again, "NO Time to Loose. AWESOME!!!
Just Discovered her after hearing Valerie June mention her as the Queen of Memphis Soul on her latest album. OMG OMG...love her...what a talent..What a voice.." Comfort Me"..So thankful...
She also sang with Otis Redding and did an album with him. Her dad ran stax recording studio in Memphis. Carla Thomas of course which part of it because her dad Rufus Thomas and Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett and Bobby Womack was there for a time also must have been awesome!
Hi edagdwg thanks for sharing never heard this song love this when you are in love with someone that doesn't love you it hurts sooooooo bad know one knows what it's until it happens to them sad but true love is real Linda j. gog gives gifts just for you ❤️❤️💯💯🐻🐻🌈🌈
Thanks for bringing one of the idols of my young years, always love the soulful way Carla puts it down. Don't remember her singing this so I am so so glad that you shared it here!!
That's nonsense! The Stax sessions with Carla, featuring Booker T, the MG's, the Memphis Horns, and produced by Steve Cropper are legendary. They rivaled anything produced at Muscle Shoals, Motown, Chess, and King, during the golden age of Rhythm and Blues. Those Stax sessions arguably made her the Queen of R&B, and certainly Memphis Soul. This one, while a good session in its own right in no way eclipses her historic body of work with Stax!👑🎤🎶🎧👠
