as much legendary the tackles are.. we must also appreciate the attackers those days... they didn't roll on the ground for 10 mins for slightest of contact.. they just get back on their feet n carry on... hats off to those days of football... it was full of passion n love for the game not money
@Al I agree with you. Also when I watch stuff from before about 1998 the game seems so much slower and there seemed to be more space/time for attackers, I know they are more protected now but idk, just looks slower and sloppier. The simulation and diving is absolutely horrendous in today's game no question. As you say just my opinion tho.
I learned something from the way he tackles, he dives in just before the man on the ball is about to touch it, when they cannot do anything on the ball to stop him.
I think Puyol is possibly the most under rated player in the history of football, always fair, always clean, just pure class and a great ambassador for football. For those of you as old as me, he is the new Trevor Brooking, no unnecessary fouls, just a gentleman who is and plays football on a higher level!!

Celebrate the goal by taking off his armband, and kiss it with so much spirit in his eyes, lifting the whole team's morale. A captain that truly lead by example. Gave me shivers every time.
He indeed was the Wall that made Barca the team stood so strong on. Actually it's the opposite. Earlier, they'd get real money only if they won. So they were playing for money. In ESL, they'd get the money regardless of the result. So if they're playing for anything, it's pride. 🤷🏼♂️

I think him and Vidic might have been the last true defenders in terms of no nonsense defending. People mention Ramos and while I'd have him in my team, I see him as a great (not extraordinary) defender who can win matches with his attacking abilities esp in set pieces. Defensively, I've seen him make so many 'David Luiz' type errors in El Classicos......
