Ahhh bless Carlo the Festing variations and the tweeting birds: always makes me smile. Such a dear man as well as a fantastic player. Got to know him and miss him terribly always had time for you and was a brilliant ambassador dor the instrument with an infestious enthusiasm. What I loved is that he didn’t hog the show. At Cathedrals and big shows he performed with the resident musicians and choirs and got them involved plus audience. The atmosphere was always terrific. At Rochester he couldn’t get up to the organ as he was so big at the time so he was on his Allen and Roger Sayer Duetted on the cathedral organ it was brilliant.
Please, when was this priceless treasure performed ? At 86 & counting I feel so privileged to be still on God's earth and sat at my desk in the very room where Carlo slumbered often, so peacefully in those past halcyon times.. My three kids worshipped their big brother ! Rest In Peace Carlo, Neil Shaw.
Carlo met and became great friends with my brother, Neil shaw, Burlington Ontario who created the electronic shaw new concept, opus 28 organ, I am 88 now, Neil, 6years on!
