Alcaraz really has something else that others players don't. His strength, speed and ability to hit the ball so early is a thing of beauty.

amazing serve. Horrible baseline game. I think footwork is the issue.

actually i love how the new gen is experimental with their groundstrokes, these are not even mostly for show. they really wanna step up their game by trying a variety of shots

I'm not convinced he actually wants to play professional tennis tbh. By the time they are mid-to-late twenties like Fritz, a lot of these guys have played tennis for 20 years. God gave Fritz an ideal tennis physique but his desire to win is nowhere close to his talent level. Frankly all the top Americans are this way. Tiafoe, Fritz, Korda, etc. They'll play to their ability for like a week at a time and then regress again.

None of the American players are as athletic as the very top guys that's why. Probably not as disciplined either which is an American trait. If you look at the best American players ever, Samprass and Agassi, they had something these guys just don't possess. Sampras was an athletic freak, just incredible physical ability who had the best serve ever and one of the best all court attacking games. His forehand was amazing too. Agassi had trained with the best coaches since he was a little tyke, had the best hand eye coordination of any athlete, and had incredible groundstrokes from both wings. The guys you mentioned have a lower ceiling. Korda has great strokes but can't move like Alcaraz. Fritz has a bomb serve and talent but watch him move, he's not a super athlete.

taylor needs a more consistent ground game. If his serve wasn't such a weapon he'd be trash

emphasis on "if" the fact is that he manages to win and maintain his ranking whatever tools he uses or has at his disposal shouldn't have a say in the matter
