I was born in 1975 to Rudy & Rosa Rodriguez of Mcallen, TX (El Valle). Growing up in the 80s my dad would get his guitar at night and start to play. One of my favorite songs I would ask him to play was this song. I’ve always loved it! My daddy had a stroke in 2015 and now can’t play any instruments 😞, so now I’m learning this song on the piano so I can play for him. 🥰
Dios le de sanacion total a tu querido Padre, esa es mi canción favorita de todos los tiempos..Yo la canto mucho en mis reuniones familiares...bendiciones..soy una persona de 69 años y seguidor de 3stas hermosa canciones
Wow, brings back those beautiful times when we were young and getting drafted during "Nam", I'm 70 years old years now and most of the "Vatos" that used to jam this rola together have passed away. We must of sang this song a million times! Once a Marine always a Marine! 🇺🇸🇲🇽
Frank Lopez my dad use to sing this song when I would play it. He was from sabinal Texas drafted by the us Marine corps. Unfortunately he passed this past Thursday.

My mother used to sing this song and we had the same album cover my mother passed away in 2011 I miss her so much nothing is the same anymore all the good days are gone!!!!.....My grandkids are the only ones keeping me alive!!!!...Thank you for getting this on!!!!
I remember hearing this on my transistor radio. Every night. Then my mom bought the album. I wasn't allowed to touch the stereo. I was a little kid, and boy was I impressed when I found out they were friends of my parents. They were on the radio! #thetejanobeatles
Vestida de blanco, damn brotha that brings back hella memories from when I was a kid hearing my Jefito Victor R. Miranda Sr. Singing in with all my Primos, Los Riveras de Mesa, Az, Dickey, Brusha, Rudy, Jimmy. Man blast from the past. Que Bueno!!
Around the mid 60s working the fields & having fun, on a transistor radio we'd listen to Carlos Guzman Y Su Conjunto (as it was known at the beginning). I ended up drumming for Carlos right after high school for 2 years before joining the Army, two things I dreamed about doing. There wasn't one gig where "Vestida de Blanco" wasn't requested. (JJS)

Darn it finally I see some body posting from Brownsville Texas. I am from Brownsville 64 and still listening to the music of my cultural. Here in Central texas- austin texas we do not have a Chicano radio station. Senator barriers tried to convince some investors to start a Tejano radio station but they turned him down. They own all (8) eight radio stations here in austin. We were flooded with and overrunning during the late 90's and early 2000's. I don't blame them, it was our government that allowed this to happen. If you are the middle class don't feel so luck because while we in the lower class become homeless and wear clothing that hasn't been watched for who knows how-long, well your conditions will eventually leave you in extreme poverty. I don't wish this on anybody but things not looking good worldwide.the Bible said that these were the last days for everybody. And I believe that all those prophesies are coming true. My daughters here I got to go.

Ej ledesma was the composer from harlingen texas, recorded by his band, the cruisers at Jimmy Nichols studios in McAllen texas, early 60,s, the cruisers recording was copied by Los fabulosos 4,down to the last note, the cruisers were a rock and roll band with Chicano members ,who tried their hand at music chicana, the draft got the best of them ,the bass player was Kia. In Viet nam, then Carlos y Los fab 4 picked it up,the rest is history,I was the back drummer for Carlos Guzman y Los jovenes, and to this day for the crusiers
@@arturosaenz9120That's what I taught. I went to school with EJ since grade school. Still remember him always saying he liked writing songs. I was living in LA at one time. We both went Harlingen High. Class of '62
