If you would really want it im sure you could find carlos in germany and talk with him if he was cool to talk with you. He also just started earning his first legal money ever with writing a book. Its insane that he is still alive. Imagine how much money still must be buried somewhere, im sure he knows some places. His daughter is also on instagram and she visited germany a while ago so im also sure she visited her dad in germany. Its so unreal but amazing that one of the top guys of the medellin cartel is still alive and living a free life now.
I used to go to Norman's Cay all the time! One of his airplanes got shot down in the bay in the 80's and you can snorkel it. Extremely interesting stuff if you're a history geek like I am
Yeah, I think you are full of shit!!! Right next to these comments are video suggestions, and one is called "Drug Plane Dive, Normans Cay, Bahamas" so yeah you are what I like to call a "Troll"
There are a couple of planes, when he was kicking people off the island they would drain all the fuel out of the planes and then make them take off either trying to kill them or just making sure they'll never come back, the book turning the tide gives a great description of the events that happened on Norman's Cay buy a professor who bought diving operation there months before later turned it into full blast cocaine trafficking and storage hub.
If you went through that house with a black light to detect bodily fluids such as blood and semen, I bet every square inch of that house would be glowing.
@@angelvalle9963 That's what you think. He's in Austria and applying to join art school. If he gets rejected - he's going to go medieval on their asses.
@@angelvalle9963 “doing quite well”? He had a relapse of prostate cancer in 2020 and was receiving care from a Germany charity. I doubt he’ll last for much longer.
I was there a few times in the 70's and all the houses on the island were beautiful and unique. There was a restaurant and a few nice cottages to stay at near the pier and a small staff with a dive shop. Last time there we knew the guys arriving were shady and boy could they party and they were good to us but we knew it wasn't going to remain friendly and we never went back.
@@Gameboy-Unboxings It wasn't an instant process. He initially got on with a lot of neighbours and visitors. It took a long period and purchasing properties from residents before he had it to himself.
I did a 12 month stint on the Islands 4 years ago in the construction industry and there was a major project planned for this island with a prominent politician out of Florida involved in a team looking for clients to tender on it. It all fell over when the economy went south. There were big plans....3 / 4 year project.
I imagine all the stuff that Lehder left in that house, money, jewelery, expensive alcohol, wow, and once he got arrested all the people(even his own people) musta stole everything, even the wood! lol, no wonder it looks like a skeleton now, it musta been AMAZING to wake up in the morning with 5 women, and look out the blue ocean and feel the breeze, have a big breakfast, and go to work, WOW trully a envious life...minus the whole going to jail part, for half a lifetime O_o
Trust me, when you have an endless supply of cocaine, there isn't going to be a whole lot of "waking up in the morning". I lived it and you will only put the stuff away and actually get a night's sleep once every 4-5 days..
....they would've bought a sports team, like Manchester United, or the Dallas Cowboys, or started some Miami team...or started some other Criminal Enterprise 😆 Like the Trump "Money Laundering" Organization, like in Panama City 🤔
My Brother in law spent a great bit of time with Carlos which became his codefendant Jackson C. Reed was always trying to drag us out there but the time never was right, I always think that we should have made the time it looks like such a great place now that Jack's gone and all our plans we had with him once they commuted his sentence which happened about 24 hours before his death so did all the plans, But at least we have all his letters and his book he wrote on his own while incarcerated
@@seancoonery2559if you read the book you will see my wife's (phyrne) name in the opening of the book right above Carlos, we have the 1st book that he wrote, paintings and years of many letters that he wrote about his hope that we would be able to all live in a secluded area that we could all homestead on he was a true adrenaline junkie he loved to dive (both from a plane and from the air) I have all the records that he recieved when he broke the record for a all electric vehicle called the silver eagle I could go on and on and about every bit of paperwork and pictures that we have but that would be fruitless if you dont believe of me ever knowing him
Jack could have gotten a much shorter sentence if he would of testified against Carlos but he decided not to so he was given a 15 year sentence plus a $25,000 fine then they re charged him under the rico law that's when they gave him the two life sentences one with no parole and a million dollar fine they did take one of the life sentence and the million dollar fine off his sentence but they kept the one without parole then finally after his health was declining they released him and he past away as a free man.
Actually walked through that home. Our family took a vacation to great harbor cay. Was not suppose to wonder off. Which i did. Then went into a cave area off of the coast. Met some people. Believe it was Carlos Lehder, his wife, and daughter. Peace Carlos. We should go back and rebuild the property. What can they say. Its all over now.
where did you get all the information on the house names and such? I would love to read about this story more, as I am a big fan of the Medellin Cartel. Thanks
I just read a few weeks ago.. he just got released from prison (75 years old) and reported to europe I am amazed his body lasted this long with all the drug use
wish i couldve seen this before it fell completely apart,i guess maybe the fireplace is still there. shame no one ever bought it and refurbished it,it was a cool house with a crazy background i'm seriously surprised it was never snapped up.

Thank you for the tour, but: 1) Marion Fed Prison is in Illinois not Indiana. 2) According to Wikipedia Lehder is in WITSEC. There is more than one theory which prison he is in.
@@ryanharrington6389 actually he is currently at Pendleton Federal prison in Indiana as of Feb 2019... I have family that are there currently and have seen and talked with him..
"Untouched since Carlos was arrested." Untouched? Dude, countless tourists and sight-seers have walked through that house since Carlos lost ownership of it.
Did this island have any kind of infrastructure? I know that Lehder and Co. scared off the rest of the islands inhabitants, I would imagine that would include anyone that operated things that you would think he would want, like power.
it was part of the bahamas alot of those islands have underwater power and phone cables that supply electricity they probably had fresh water running to the island also
ppl probably went in and ripped out anything valuable from it, left it opened, and then the place was hit by many many storms throughout the years.. beautiful place though, he had all glass doors so you could see through the house
Marion Illonios not Indiana. Carlos has not been at Marion for over 25 years. His whereabouts are unknown. Mysteriously the powerful people in government had made him disappear... nobody knows his whereabouts.
good video i lived inSouthFlorida when Carlos was usingNormans Cay , i the shape of the property is terribly sad as it is one of the prettiest locations in the World i love the Bahamas waters and personally think the Exumas have the nicest does Normans Cay still have the infamous Lagoon area that the Sharks used to Breed in yearly ? that would be a interesting VideomIMOm
A lot of his neighbours and there pets. One day a boat was found drifting a few miles off the island with a family and there pet dog on board. Carlos wasn’t playing, you either joined in and started working for him, moved or died.
My cousin vanished 43 years ago flying from the keys to Norman's Cay Key Thea South America he was said to be involved with Escobar George Jung and Carlos he had two individuals with him not have been heard from since if anyone has any information of these individuals please leave a message the Pilot's name was Melvin Finch
Sinceramente Para mi esa casa la habían demolido. Increíble que todavía este de pie aunque En ruinas. Dios tenga misericordia de carlos, que pueda llegar a conocerle.
so this is the island that the movie "Blow" is based on? or a scene anyway?? The narrator said the house has been untouched since he was arrested! Does that mean it was never seized? I wonder who actually owns the property now.
the island isn't owned by anyone. there are a few private homes on the island, as well as a compound known as macduffs which has villas for rent, and a great little restaurant. i have some friends who own a house on the island, who we happen to be visiting in a month or so. i will post some videos of the island now.
If you ever do this again, have the camera focused on walking up to the property and the house instead of focused on you. Have a microphone so you don't need to be close to the camera for anyone to hear you.
