I've never grown these but have researched extensively. Lane, Supreme, and Paulk have also gotten good reviews by discussion groups. We planted a Carlos, but it might still be dormant. If I could put in a second plant, it might be Lane. Top criteria: producer, dark skin, good flavor, and high disease/insect resistance. We are 10a in Florida. you need to train the trunk to go higher up off the ground before you let it grow horizontally down the arms

I have a cowart. It grew down a 20’ trellis over the last few months of growing season and is producing fruit in the first year. I sprinkle triple 13 on the 1st of the month, starting in may, and calcium nitrate on the 15th.

For the 3rd year, don't forget to apply 2 pounds of 10-10-10 this month (Marc). Then apply 1 pound of 10-10-10 per vine in May.

Bare roots are a crap shoot...I can get mine $15 each with no shipping at my local nursery ..
