I thought Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe song was catchy enough but when I heard this song two years ago, it blew me away. I liked it better : the drums, the orchestral sound at the beginning and throughout the song and that heavy bassline in the chorus with Carly's high pitched voice. It's amazing !!
A boy once sent me this video and I replied saying "Yeah, I already heard it. It's a good song." But now, years later, I realize that he sent me this to say that he likes me because we were in a relationship at the time (Ya know how people do that with songs) -Face palm-
She was still releasing new music even in 2012 - 13 while the Call Me Maybe craze was still going on : "Tonight I'm Getting Over You" "This Kiss" "Good Time" and "Curiosity" from the Kiss album which is the one with "Call Me Maybe" but the problem was they weren't promoted very well because of all the attention she was still getting from Call Me Maybe. Then Carly was gone for a year because she was working on her album EMOTION and came back with this song for that album to promote it in 2015.
I feel so old rn -.- I remember the old instagram and vines community editing everything to this song. Times were so great. AND THIS SONG IS STILL CATCHY ASFFFFFFFF
[Traumatic flashblacks to that one time on a Sunday when Call Me Maybe played on a loop for a good hour and a half] That legitimately happened, and the next day the radio station had some really pissed off callers. Looking back on it, it was pretty hilarious, but at the time I think half our city's population went absolutely nuts.

I don't know why people are saying this song is dumb, yes the lyrics are very simple but that makes it catchy (very catchy) and lets face it there are songs out there that don't make any sense whatsoever and people listen to those on a daily basis, her target audience are probably the younger generation anyway. She wants to make this kind of music so let her, it has nothing to do with you if you don't like it.
This song can apply to any one of any age ,, the Idea of saying I really like you can be in anyones thought at any time in life .,, its something i believe we have all wanted to say to some one .. Call me Maybe also reached out to all types of music lovers ,Country,Rock so on ,, check the covers it was a wide spectrum song.,Good Comment though. ,
