Same that's crazy because I just got done looking at this movie and when I heard this song I need to go on RU-vid and look it up such a beautiful song 🥰😍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😊😊😊😊😊😊☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺
Criminally underrated song. For those who think this is about Max and David.. It's not. This is about David and Donna and more so.. about any man and woman who's had that kind of extremely close friendship (or former romance) or possibly bordering on physical relationship that neither can't admit to themselves or each other that they have feelings for the other out of fear of what it will do to the friendship. I feel this song in so many ways.
That song is just awesome.I never forgot the looks that Tom Hanks and his true love exchanged while this was playing in the movie.I have known love in my lifetime and it truly is the best feeling in the world. So blessed to find this wonderful song.
Interesting how Carly Simon was constantly performing movie ballads during the mid-eighties. 1986 was probably her busiest year, providing themes to Karate Kid Part II, Nothing in Common, and Heartburn. And, she produced three winners as a result: "Two Looking at One," "Coming Around Again," and "If It Wasn't Love".
Funny sometimes how you think You’ve found someone, out of all the others you recall It stays a little longer on your mind, the only one And life becomes the hardest place to fall If It Wasn't Love at all What were all those feelings and why? If It Wasn't Love at all Can I just go on dreaming? Started out at zero we built it up Built it up, made it more than most will ever do Maybe it was just the times in me, we stayed in touch But not enough to last one whole life through If It Wasn't Love at all What were all those feelings and why? If It Wasn't Love at all Can I just go on dreaming? Tonight…Tonight Living for you now is all I want Who but you could ever really change the heart of mine? Loving you, I thought that I had found the other side If It Wasn't Love at all What were all those feelings and why? If It Wasn't Love at all Can I just go on dreaming? Can I just go on dreaming? Tonight Ooh if it wasn’t love If it wasn’t love at all I might as well; I might as well go on dreaming If it wasn’t love, if it wasn’t love, if it wasn’t love
I bought the cassette tape to this movie just to hear this wonderful song. Then I bought the DVD movie because I love Tom Hanks and this was a genuine, feel good movie, but I could hear again that beautiful song by Carly Simon ! Now I can hear it on you tube, and it takes me back to the 80s again, driving in my Ford listening to the cassette, which I only bought to hear this song ! Another great song in a movie that is timeless, is I Will Remember You, by Sarah Mclachan ! Great stuff to listen to !
very beautiful song I have never forgot it remember the first time I watch that movie it was a great movie I have been trying to find it for years Tom Hanks Jackie Gleason have always been to the great actors Jackie Gleason will always be missed that song has always meant a lot to me I have always cared in my heart went through the most difficult times in my life has hit me thanks for all the memories
What made "Nothing in Common" such a good movie to me was the fact that this was maybe one of Tom Hanks' first movies and, at the same time, Jackie Gleason's very last movie. It was kind of a happy hello and kind of a sad goodbye at the same time!!!.
This was his 6th film but it was is first real attempt at a dramatic film. Nice way to ease in since his character is kind of funny, and childish. Great film.
Have been listening to this several times tonight. What a good song. Have tried to find it on Amazon Digital and iTunes but no luck as I would like to legally download it.
Movie was amazing,my Dad and I weren't that close,he got sick ,I was the one who had to step it up and help my Mom more ,she didn't drive. I was privileged to get to know my Dad as a human not just my Hero. Thank God he showed me what I was missing. My Mom and I are still going strong we lost other family members including my Dad over the last 20 plus years. I'm the middle daughter, but my Mom said I act more mature than my remaining siblings.
I actually emailed Patrick Leonard and asked him to make the movie score available ... he said he might have it on DAT (digital audio tape) and if he could find it he's make a copy for me .. but wasn't sure if still existed. apparently he didn't cherish his work as much as we do. cool that he responded though
Suei procurando essa música, a ouviu apenas uma vez na Antena 1 e o refrão não saiu de minha mente. Um certo dia assistindo Tv dei uma imensa sorte de troca de canal e colocar na TCM s tava passando esse filme e a música no exato momento.
Best movie ever , and Carly Simon ( timeless ), she made Working Girl! , without her , the movie wouldn’t be half of what it was! Not to mention my other favorite, Secret of my success ! The 80’s ... best movies , music and questionable fashion😂
I respectfully disagree. Here’s a guy who has become so preoccupied with being a partner in the advertising firm for which he works that he’s pretty much forgotten his familial roots. He’s got a new girl in his bed every week, yet never stops yearning for his high school sweetheart. Then his parents suddenly give him a sobering reminder that they still exist…. by separating. He spends the next several weeks basically getting to know his mom and dad all over again. Before David realizes it, he’s become the parent and his folks have become a couple of old, but very needy “children.” Sometimes, his folks are petulant and stubborn and other times, they’re competing for his time and attention. I think it’s an original movie concept; yet one to which a lot of people his age can relate.
