Wow the audience here is super rude. THEYRE STILL SINGING SHUT UP! I CANT HEAR THEM!! I saw this set live at the time (was in the nc descants) and started out being worried they missed the point of ‘come sail away’ (many people don’t realize the song is about aliens) but was pleasantly surprised. Carmel performing Starships, Come Sail Away, and Final Countdown all in one show? I'm sorry, but as a former member isn't our motto "A Touch of Class"? It seems like in an effort to "modernize" our show to seem more like other choirs we've kinda forgotten our roots.
apparently you haven't been watching show choir competitions a while. it was nothing like what other choirs do. it was innovative and beyond them. I'm so proud that my daughter got to do more than cheesy moves and was a part of moving show choirs into the future.
We work just as hard, and still strive to show class with everything we do. But we also have to compete, and that means keep up with what show choir is today. Im sorry if you feel that we "lost our roots" but ALSO as a former Ambassador, I can assure you that the class is still there. 100%. "A Touch of Class" doesn't mean only performing Broadway numbers, but more as a motto as to how we are to carry ourselves and represent CHS.
