Melo is coming from a tough year on the court and off the court, which before the summer led to a divorce from his wife Lala and a possible divorce from the Knicks and the city of New York, which he called home for the past 6 years. Now blocking out the distractions and restarting from scratch Carmelo "reinvented" himself, and by creating an alter ego 'Hoodie Melo', he locked himself in the gym all summer, and he documented it daily, thanks to his trainer Chris Brickley and his staff. 'Hoodie Melo' showed himself doing things like working out at 2 am and spending his entire birthday in the gym, and he literally started a new trend as iconic as Allen Iverson's sleeve. It's not rare to see hoopers around the world working out or playing in a hoodie, and the Internet and social media blew up the phenomenon to the point where there's even a 'Hoodie Melo' character in NBA 2k18. A hoodie gives you tunnel vision, as you can only focus on what's in front of you, and that's how Carmelo has been approaching his life since this past summer. They say that an NBA player with nothing to lose is a dangerous man, and Melo has been showing it on the court, starting the regular season strong and scoring efficiently with the Oklahoma City Thunder, forming a big 3 with Russell Westbrook and Paul George, starting a brand new chapter of his life and his career. We are sure 'Hoodie Melo' is going to have a great season. Hard work is undefeated.
