I could go and on. People who probably only watch the Celtics a couple of times a year talk about Tatum like he is just any other player. JB won ECF MVP and only beat Tatum by one vote but by all the dialogue you would think Tatum has been carried in these playoffs by JB. Sure JB deserves more praise but that doesn't have to come with Tatum's disrespect.

I think something that goes missing is that even with all their early success, it was originally Kyrie and Gordon Hayward who were the faces of the franchise. They got to go thru the ups and downs of that tumultuous season and having to both take a backseat. So they learned and understood that sacrifice is needed to WIN. Of course both are human and they want their accolades too, but at this point it's about winning, and more times then not, the best team wins championships.

At the same time, he was always ready when needed but his teammates weren't e.g 2013 Game 6 Semis Jr Smith, Kidd, Shumpert were pure brick. Game 6 2009 WCF - Billups, Smith brick. That AI and Melo weren't going to ever work as AI has never been able to play like Billups. IMO, I don't think Brown is better than Tatum, Tatum is attracting a lot of double-teams throughout the Finals, Brown hasn't so it makes it easier for him to score. I have always seen the Celtics as being Tatum/Brown's team. As a fan, I find JB to be more consistent, but Tatum has a higher ceiling in any given game. I don't think that makes either of them better/worse than the other. They have learned over the years to make each other better. Looking at this championship run, we wouldn't have gotten it done without either one of them, so they are both equally important to the team and franchise.

There is a reason why this man did not win a ring. The best outcome would be JB swallowing the hard pill and giving the keys to tatum, which he was kind of forced to do. Because look at how much his game is elevated when tatum has the ball in his hands and plays point forward like lebron or magic? When tatum has the ball he is a constant 50 pt threat, he draws in the defense and is wise and skilled enough to pass out of it, unlike brown who would try to drubble through it or shoot over it, or mid way through shot try to pass it and put it in the bleachers. What we have is perfect. Tatum makes all the executive playmaking decisions, controls the flow of the offense, when he is on fire he puts 50 on your head, and when he is not he turns in to magic johnson and gets 10 assists. If we gave brown the keys, he would have the ball more often, but would he pull in the defense like tatum does? no. And even if he did and was able to pull defenders away from their assingment would he turn the ball over, put up bad shots or find the open man? i think he would turn the ball over and put up bad shots. But with tatum having the ball and for the majority of the time and the majority of decison making, it is a good thing. Becuase he doesnt have a one track mind of getting a shot off, he can take whatever the defense gives him and exploit it for an easy shit for him or an easy shot for someone else.
