No deny it's good and Mello deserve his stardom, but I don't think is deep enough, why neither him or any other interview ever asked about the situation with him Jeremy Lin and Mike D Anthony.He can say he was immature then but if there is a chance to revive that now, how would he do it?He complained that he never had a winning team like Lebron or Wade but at one point he did and he needs to sacrifice to play at the 4

I knew a little bit about his Nuggets days but overall I thought that he was just overrated. But this interview made me realize just how good of a player he is and what actually happened in OKC and Houston vs what the media tells you. Seeing how good of a person he is and how smart he is really made me appreciate him and respect him.

This podcast needs to get more love. YT are hating. This is the best Melo interview I seen, you just let him speak his truths. Thank You!!! You could see respect from him to JJ. It's pretty awesome seeing how much they both love the game. I think (unless for some reason they don't get along) J Crossover would be an amazing interview. His story deserves to be told imo.

Melo stays underrated. They also tried to Iverson him out the league, but he came back with the skinny melo and beat them at their own game with the politics. Timing was everything too. If Iverson was going through that Detroit and Memphis mess during this time, it would have gone diffently. Mad respect to Melo. First ballot HOF. Also Redick has taken over the baller podcast game real quick. Quality content over everything else. Respect.

@ohdaUtube
@ohdaUtube 3 года назад
@@beenjamminbuttons7771 he refused to take the game seriously when they tried ruining the offense through Lin cause they were winning more games with Lin than when Melo was playing prior. He complained to everyone and they stopped putting the ball in Lin's hands and forced Melo the ball again... Lin still played well but never close to what he was doing before, which was torching the entire league. They then scoffed at paying Lin in the off-season and he ended up playing for the rockets... Amare, discount double check, fields, etc were with Lin. The rest, not so much. Melo was a disease back then. He was a disease most of his career except this last one. He's not much different from AI in terms of mindset which makes sense

Carmelo in OKC was my favorite OKC team. They were having fun together. I still watch Carmelo V Knicks 1st game of that season. Roberson injury hurt there chances, they were league best up until then.

Facts and this isnt the first time melo explained the Knicks situation when Phil became Gm. I just dont understand how 1 player is to blame when he says it clear as day, multiple different coaches 100 different teammates, and he explained why the triangle offense did not work. Its almost like its pure hate at times 🤔

@El-ahrairah we both know how good of a scorer carmelo is. We both also know that even though he can pass, facilitating is not his thing either so he is not a point forward (he is not lebron james), he is also not a good perimeter defender (his post defense was underrated imo). So we know his flaws and we know his strengths, why is melo being blamed heavily for his team success when the knicks did not build around him properly? Again we both know his strengths and weaknesses, him being a leader has nothing to do with team success if you dont have the talent around the leadership. Melo is a traditional rhythm inside out scorer simple as that. So are we really blaming melo for not leading guys like Lou amundson and Alexy shved to the playoffs? Think about the teams he had to play against on a nightly basis in both conferences. There is definitely a trend to continually blame this dude when everybody knows what happened and why certain players were traded and why certain coaches were fired. Plus when they did make the playoffs did melo underperform?

Redick really gets guys to open up and they do that because they know he's coming from a good place and he's really on their side. No hidden agendas like ratings or click bait.

What I love so much about these podcasts is that you get genuine answers from these guys. It's something you don't get to see if asked about this for a courtside interview, or if brought onto ESPN w/ SAS, Inside the NBA, hell any talk show host, etc. My question is how come they seem to be more open to these sensitive questions here as opposed to on the media? Is it because they trust whoever? (in this case it's JJ) This is also just in general and goes past athletes and extends into mainstream celebrities also. Why? Just a thought

What Melo doesn't see is from a coach's perspective, his scoring from the bench would be essential to keeping the offense running continuously when Russ or PG need to take a break and essentially keep their minutes down. It's actually a very underrated role and technically the 3rd option.

Yea it is. He just wasn’t ready. He thought he should start because he looked at himself as being apart of a Big 3. Coaching on that team was weak as well. They just let Westbrook run rampant instead of coaching him and running a real system.

This is why Melo will forever be my favorite basketball player. Sad his NYK days ended with Phil Jackson's horrible front office tenure, and the OKC and Rockets situations but I'm glad he's in Portland right now and actually has the ability to have fun playing basketball games again without having to worry about a "role". Much love to Melo.
