Too right. I found this piece being sung by an english opera singer with a piano in an airport about 30 minutes ago, so to find it again is an extra delight!
How absolutely, transcendently beautiful this is. To take OPERA, an art form that is dying because people feel it is far removed from their personal experiences and for the elite minority, and take it directly TO THE PEOPLE...GENIUS! Music of all kinds belongs to the people. It crosses all boundaries, time, space, culture, language. Music is a way for us to communicate with one another when there just isn't another way. I have always loved Opera because it speaks directly to my soul, I feel its impact physically. It is a deeply moving thing to experience (not just listen to) Opera. It may be too late for some individuals in that audience to appreciate this moment they have participated in, but for others, including those who sang along, it must have been amazing. 4:33 And the children there can only benefit from having Opera and all other music forms in their lives, even when it's their lullaby. 💜
It is NEVER too late to experience music. Especially divine music such as this. It can enliven the most deceased soul. My heart thunders with the joy of it. A Colorado Mountain Grandma USA 😂💖🎶🎵🌏🌎🌍🎶
Indescribable marvelous ingenuity, I'm so speechless before this! The soprano's voice, performance, presence, and her gorgeous face! everything is so fantastic
A truly lovely professional quality voice, and so brave of the young soprano in the midst of a restaurant, close up to the audience. Very different to being on stage with the orchestra separating the singer from the audience. She is tremendous. Shared :)
music and singing is one of the most important and wonderful gifts bestowed upon mankind. It lifts the spirit, affects our innermost emotive responses, you can see people's faces here, how they are mesmerised, it's simply wonderful, things like this should happen more often.
I cried so for this was my mothers favorite opera and she'd play it loudly, he died 3/ 1/2 years ago and this video brings her back.💌💌💌💌💌💌❤❤❤❤❤💌💌💌❤❤❤❤❤❤
Not exactly a 'mob' but what an excellent Carmen that young lady would be! Bravo! I also liked the fact that some of the diners sang some of chorus parts. Well done to them, too.
Years ago, this Opera was the opening one of the La Scala season in Milano. I saw this with my wife. She wasn't fond for the Melodamma and, of course, she didn't know the "Carmen" by Byzet. So she wasn't happy to go to Milano, only to see an Opera. I am glad to notice you that since that evening, she started to appreciate Melodamma.
Sympathique et génial. C'est peut-être là le moyen de faire retrouver à l'opéra un statut qu'il n'aurait jamais dû perdre. Un art populaire au sens le plus noble du terme. J'adoooore !
omg! cleveland used to have a restaurant like this! most of the servers were opera singers by evening and they would break into song unexpectedly jus like this it was awesome!
They say that opera is an acquired taste. IMO, it's a matter of exposure. Young people don't know what they're missing until they actually hear it. There is a reason why the likes of Carmen persists to this day.
