We welcome to the set, Carmen Maria Machado, author of Her Body and Other Parties: Stories, as well as Kelly Link, author of Get In Trouble: Stories. Machado has been awarded fellowships and residencies from several foundations. Currently, she is the Artist in Residence at the University of Pennsylvania. Link was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Fiction in 2016 and Get In Trouble was on several Top 10 Reading Lists for that year.
FROM THE PUBLISHER (Her Body and Other Parties):
In Her Body and Other Parties, Carmen Maria Machado blithely demolishes the arbitrary borders between psychological realism and science fiction, comedy and horror, fantasy and fabulism. While her work has earned her comparisons to Karen Russell and Kelly Link, she has a voice that is all her own. In this electric and provocative debut, Machado bends genre to shape startling narratives that map the realities of women's lives and the violence visited upon their bodies.
FROM THE PUBLISHER (Get In Trouble):
She has been hailed by Michael Chabon as “the most darkly playful voice in American fiction” and by Neil Gaiman as “a national treasure.” Now Kelly Link’s eagerly awaited new collection--her first for adult readers in a decade--proves indelibly that this bewitchingly original writer is among the finest we have.
