Hey, no prob. This was a nice change of pace. Other than RWBY and that dragon prince show, this is practically the only good american cartoon out there at the moment.
The moment Belmont was mentioned, Carmilla's whole facade came down for a second. She wasn't even trying to kiss up anymore. Meanwhile, Dracula is just like "Oh? Leon's progeny's still running around? That's nice."
Dracula underestimates the Belmonts. Trevor,by far one of the weakest Belmonts already gave him a lot of trouble. The later belmonts will all fuck him up
@@shiningshadow4157 "When his wife died, he stopped feeding. This war was the worlds longest suicide note". Dracula knew, he wanted the Belmont to come and kill him. He never underestimated him.
@@VernulaUtUmbra He wanted Alucard to kill him. He did underestimate the Belmonts becuase he was not shitting his pants in fear. But Simon, richer and Julius will fix that
4th wall netflix:ook so we agree that were gonna do this season? dracula:im all for it fact its genius but i mean we could do it like..so. Netflix:hm...good point. dracula:also i swear to actual god whoever pranked my office again is going to get evicerated where they stand. Netflix:noted ok so 3,2,1:action! dracula(i hate my life)
To be fair, I yhink Cho might have been able to best one of them but not all three. It seemed like she had Alucard off-guard until Sypha takes her out. Her backstory makes it seem like she had a fair amount of martial prowess, and of all the generals seemed like she was the fastest by a huge margin.
This is why i kinda hate religion too irl, after being a Castlevania fan and after having watched the series ..... they're a clan working near the truth of things - Drac's past... idk man, i'm taking Gabriel as THE canon one - yet they gotta deal with a hunter from the other team, biased by God and stuff.
Belmonts have been hunting vampires and monsters for centuries. The fact that these vampires are across the world or even over seas, it still terrifies them to even hear the word "Belmont" being they all know the legends of a monster hunter that hides under their coffin.
Given that they are centuries old they probably saw Belmont's killing vampires to them belmonts aren't legends they're the worst nights of their lives.
@@mwuahugz1115 You can blame the Church for demonizing the Belmont family to the general populace. Much like in real life example, they were out to curb anyone or anything that would give people hope and wasn't part of Catholic Church. Because if people believed in and relied on anything or anyone else, then the Church has no power and influence over those people. Having all those people under their sway meant potential cannon fodder to die for your cause, and gaining their wealth and land under the guise of "providing for God".
@@Cr0misc anyway, has anyone have the information what happened to the belmonts before trevor? I remember one of the goons in the bar fight mention there is some feud inside belmont family that they are fighting at each other?
Carmilla's use of the word 'extinct' is interesting. Considering the vampires basically equate humans with prey animals, it seems like she thinks of the Belmonts as a different species altogether. The kind that bites back.
It's normal for noble houses to be described as "extinct" when those bearing the family name have all died out, or the house could be described as extinct if the entire male line is wiped out, seeing as they're the ones that carry on the family name and bear the family genes, I know women do as well, but they're married off to other families, meaning the children they bear don't possess their former family's name.
He'd be like "It wouldn't do for some nobody to finish me off. I'd much rather someone with the proper background and pedigree pull it off. Can't have people thinking ANYBODY could have done the job."
Carmilla had that whole betrayal planned out on the assumption that Dracula was weakened and malnourished, but seeing him fight Alucard, he probably would have curbstomped her. Carmilla's not as clever as she thinks she is.
@@LordTyph Yeah he quite literally 1v3'd the only people who had a serious hope of stopping him, and would've succeded in killing them (quite effortlessly too) if he didn't come to his senses. And that was while having a deathwish and having not fed for over a year.
@@LordTyph ngl in a spinoff I kinda want to see his full strength like when they do a spinoff I randomly want an episode where we see Lisa in trouble from something powerful and we see Dracula just playing with it
Love how the belmonts are the only serious threat the vampires even consider I mean To them they aren’t even human they can’t be hunted or killed easily They are an entire family line of creatures that have dedicated themselves to destroying and killing all evil things and there MORTAL And they have EXCELLED at it…… That is in itself a feat especially against vampires that can ultimately live forever They aren’t just weary of them like “Oh there’s a Belmont” There afraid Like “OH FUCK THERES A BELMONT”
Godbrand was unfortunately definitely the kind of person who would get killed over his comments. Considering most of his peers COULD kill him if drawn into a fight, he wasn't going to last long. Vikings weren't known for their long lives, they were known for their complete lack of regard for personal safety.
I would have liked to seen him meet Trevor honestly, I'd love to seen that exchange before that fight. You know those two would kinda get along, and have some form of mutual respect before having to put each other down.
I really love the small detail of Carmilla's use of the word "It" when referencing the returned belmont and his possible access to the hoard of vampire killing weapons
Carmilla is acting like she’s at Camp Crystal Lake smoking dope and having premarital sex, and just heard “KI, KI, KI....MA, MA, MA....” She’s not wrong.
mynewtsack if you watch the original F13, Pamela Voorhees keeps saying “kill her mommy” while chasing the final girl, believing that it’s Jason’s spirit or whatever demanding vengeance or something like that. Since Jason himself took over as the lead antagonist, the roles are reversed. Now Jason is driven by hallucinations of his departed mother commanding him to “kill for mommy” or “kill for mother” depending on who was writing the script that day. Over time, it’s devolved in-universe to “KI KI KI....MA MA MA.”
I really like the idea that Carmilla was the target of a Belmont before. One that very nearly killed her. She knows how dangerous a Belmont can be, because she has seen one of them in action. I feel like it not only adds more to the weight of the scene, but it adds more to Carmilla's immediate reaction. That face of "OH SHIT." and her subsequent tearing out Godbrands, proverbial, throat becomes much more weighty, because there is that genuine fear there.
That... is actually an excellent theory. One I wish they had run with and why she sought to avoid getting entangled with the Belmonts. A shame the writing and dialogue destroyed anything good I could find about this show.
Carmilla broke character when she heard that there was a Belmont still alive which shows how much impact the Belmont clan has on vampires and any other creature of the night.
Carmilla is my favourite vampire of all time. They wrote every character in the show so fantastically but she is the best. When she commands the undead archbishop to bless the river with him standing in it is the most bad ass scene ever.
yeah and they produced stronger and more dedicated vampire hunters every generations Simon, Richter and Julius are the strongest in their clan history.
Unfortunately, since the time of Leon, not a single Belmont managed to beat Dracula until Trevor. They only got better with time. Christopher and Simon did it twice, Juste did it prematurely, Richter did it once, and Julius beat Dracula so hard that he had to reincarnate as a Japanese kid.
@@Emberson-9000he means the Belmonts BEFORE Trevor. They had to be pretty powerful and the main reason these vampire generals are so scared of them. Some of them maybe even fought or had family killed by Belmonts.
@@spikymarshmallow7611 OMG why haven't u seen the trailer? I binged watched it in a day, and it's a season like no other, the fight scenes are god-tier level. You're going to witness how savage Carmilla is.
Knowing that Dracula used to be best friends with Leon Belmont and is directly responsible for why the Belmont family became what it is to vampires, makes this entire scene indirectly hysterical. It’s a good thing Carmilla never thought to ask him why he never just murdered all the Belmonts when he totally could have, or else he’d have a much harder time shirking that question off.
"Oh, Leon and I were brothers-in-arms before I became a vampire. Kinda hard to kill someone who knows how you fight." "Le-leon ?!" "Leon BELMONT." "Wa-wait... are you the reason they hunt us ?" "The reason they hunt you, and the reason they are this good at it. Just as they are the reason I am this powerful. You can go and try to kill one, but you'd be nothing more than a snail dropped high by a bird to crack its shell."
In this situation, Rose would probably have followed up with something like this: Rose(looking Carmilla in the eye): A war council of vampires, easy. One Belmont? Now you're scared." (Carmilla is speechless)
And then Trevor went on to beat death itself, 1 on 1. Belmonts are a different breed. Ps: I already hear people typing stuff like. "Well actually in the games..." / "This person also beat death lol, not that special." Trevor is the best Belmont, change my mind. Not the strongest, but the most relatable, charismatic fucker amongst them all.
dracula: oh thank satan. i was thinking i would have to make a new vampire hunter to kill me but if a belmont yet lives then i can cut out the middle man.
Only thing to make this scene better would be if the music spiked when Isaac said Belmont and after that thered be few seconds of silence. I seriously love this scene and the comment section, Belmont family is the most powerful clan in all of Castlevania, and seeing the vampires react to just HEARING the name and chilling fear into them is so badass.
Dracula doesn't even care. He's just like "oh boy another monster hunter for me to style on because I'm freaking Dracula. He only really reacts to hearing that Adrian is back because even now, he doesn't really want to fight his son again.
I like how Camellia refers to the Belmonts has “they” or “it”. It’s like she sees them as more then just humans. Like beneath there fears there’s a small ounce of respect for the Belmonts.
Carmilla was the only one to remind everyone how scary a Belmont can be. They shoulda listened to her...since he proved her right when he stormed the castle with Alucard and Sypha. Shows she's not just a sassy act, she's smart to be afraid...very smart.
Camila should have stopped at the Belmonts and gone no further, for that smirk was but a single step to her ruin… …And a big happy reunion with her former master in Hell, who’s probably going to do things to her that would make “8mm” pretty f**king tame in comparison.
As much of a problem Trevor posses to to his plans, Dracula was probably thinking if his son and a Belmont were to team up against him then it would be a very fitting end for him. To bad that end will only be temporary.
Seeing as the dracula novel is canon, it's quincy morris that has the belmont blood in him, he even has ownership of the vampire killer. I honestly think that van helsing is like an alucard type character, a strong 3rd party rival or something along those lines.
Belmont being mentioned here has the same weight, arguably more so perhaps than saying that the Winchesters are on there way. Im now wondering if there is a world out there where Dean and Sam are long desendences of Trevor.
Carmilla: "We need to check out the Belmont ancestral home." Godbrand: "Why?" Carmilla:"Because they have been exterminating us for f***in' centuries, dips***, and their home is where they keep their pest control supplies!"
Belmonts are the boogeyman to vampires Vamp child: (misbehaving) Vamp parent: “if you don’t stop imma call the belmonts to come get you Vamp child: (freeze in fear)
Its so great how they portray the Belmonts in this show. Trevor isn't even the greatest or most equipped Belmont, but the Belmont name and crest lets everyone know that he is bred and trained for exactly the purpose of hunting and killing monsters. If there was any equal to vampires among the humans, its the Belmonts. For a show that goes on for a lot of episodes about how inferior humans are, how they're livestock, and how simple they are, the Belmonts are the chink in that armor as they fit none of those stereotypes. Especially in Season 4 when Trevor kind of reveals that he hunts and maybe even sees vampires in a similar fashion as he does animals, in that he knows vampires evolutionary weaknesses and exploits them.
