Npc on rails shooter logic: hey this guy has been shooting the enemies, better jump in front of his sight, it's ok, I said "HELP ME" or "DON'T SHOOT" so it's impossible for him to shoot me by accident
When I played this for the first time... I was incredibly grateful for House of the Dead being 60FPS. Trust me: Playing this game makes you feel like you're missing all your shots.
Okay...so....WHY did I not know of this game sooner? It looks awesome! It's like someone went to a themepark, looked at each ride and thought "Gee, I wonder what this would looks like as a game". And then had a severe nightmare that same night of some undead apocalypse and came out of it thinking: YES
Fun Fact: 3DFX developed the hardware for this game and even invented SLI (Yes, you heard me...) technology, later on Nvidia bought the 3DFX Company and completely dissolved it into Nvidia, not without adopting some tech first, first Glide (3DFX's Proprietary Graphical API), then SLI technology.
01:36 boss 1: HAMBONE 03:00 boss 2: HAMBONE THE REVENGE 04:38 boss 3: EVIL MARIE 10:44 boss 4: KRAMPUS 14:13 boss 5: EYECLOPS 16:20 boss 6: JUNIOR 21:30 final boss : TOKKEN TAKKER
I remember playing this at my town fair, everyone was riding the rides, while I was in the mini arcade they had at the fair, and I remember playing this with some random kid, and he was like " I don't have any more Quarters" so I gave him a $5 that was for my food there, and he gave me his gun while he went to go get quarters , so when he came back he saw me holding both guns up shooting and straight beat the first level without him.. gave back his gun and we proceeded to beat the whole game together.. but the look on his face when he came back and saw me unloading with both guns.. priceless!
@sneksnekitsasnek yes In fact When there 2 players active There more enemies but when there 1 player left it's difficulty is reduced until someone enters in
For the record my favorite boss fight in the Carnevil arcade game is Junior the big baby and enfant terrible. The big baby Junior is huge and dangerous and he puts up a good fight.
Ah, rail shooters with those bullshit unavoidable attacks meant to make you eat through your quarters. First game I noticed it in was the first Jurassic Park game Sega made with the hydraulic seat. Second T-Rex fight & onwards you couldn’t get through the fight without taking damage
The fairest rail shooter I’ve played is HotD 2. If your aim and reflex was good enough, you could avoid damage most times. Only boss that is kinda BS is the chainsaw dude when he does the drop attack. It just makes his weak point hard as hell to hit.
I think Rail Shooters should make a come back through arcade cabinets that Bars, Family type places similar to Chuck E. Cheese etc. Updated new rail shooters, they're fun with friends and random strangers for sure. Yes of course collectors could buy them, I'm just saying they should make new IPs based on Rail Shoot 'em ups.
Somehow, the amount of times you died is a new record for every time I play this game. I always manage to screw up both Hambone fights. Congratulations.
You would need to get both carnevil.chd and carnevil.zip and you should be able to find them pretty easily if you search for them. You would also need the emulator MAME to play it, if you don't already have it.
In MAME.ini, you need to enable mouse by changing where it says "mouse 0" to "mouse 1". There is also a gun calibration screen which I think you need to use. You press F2 to open the service menu to get there. If you have any trouble with it, you can check this gun calibration video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1F1Svef7WWY.html
When calibrating, do you see the little X in the middle of the crosshair like at about 40 seconds in the calibration video? Also, you do exit out of the service menu instead of just hitting reset?
1:40 Hambone is like having a Super mega temper tantrum like the Hulk. Lol 1:47 This will stop him from the super mega temper tantrum. 3:08 He’s Back!!!!! 3:24 Eat This!!!!! The end of the Temper Tantrum Rampage.
I picked that one because I think it makes a good first stage. It also happens to be the one on the left, which is probably why it is usually picked first by others. As for the intro, I generally do include it at the beginning or end of the video, but I think I generally avoided including them at the time I made this video.
I have not played this game for years in a long time, until last year, I was very lucky to find a CarnEvil arcade cabinet in Wild Wood New Jersey! So I decided to do a walkthrough of it!
This one caps out the credits at 32? The devs must really hate people who deliberatley put in 99 credits just to play for insanely long periods of time. Either that or they knew MAME was going to emulate this game.
Tökkentäkker: Welcome aboard... From this study. I have observed your every move, but you don't obey! Prepare to die! *Evil Laugh* Umlaut! Get him! Umlaut: At last, we'll needs!
