In this episode, it's Cozumel day and we're headed to Mr. Sancho's Beach Club for their all-inclusive package, booked independently through Beach Tours Mexico for $50 per person. Join us as we eat all the foods, drink all the beverages, and swim in well... one of the pools!! :D
We're on the back half of our back-to-back adventure aboard the Carnival Horizon, which is a 6-Day Western Caribbean itinerary with stops in Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel! We sailed from November 11-17, 2018 on this second leg of the adventure.

Hah, we've got six cruises already crammed into the month of February, all out of Florida... I think our mega marathon cruise session ends around the 6th of March, but we've got to get back home to some normalcy after all that madness, ha ha... hope you have a great cruise!! :P

we go to Nachi Cocum when we're in Cozumel, but the last time, we tried Mr. Sanchos. We were very disappointed. It was soooo crowded. We felt like sardines all lined up in the lounges. There was not much beach. The drinks were pretty watered down. I will say that the service and food was very good. I'm glad we finally tried it, but we will be back to Nachi Cocum on our next trip.

We know a ton of people who prefer Nachi, and we've done both and loved both. We were just at Nachi in October and enjoyed the peace and quiet, with that more private feel. They only let in 100-some-odd people per day, I believe, versus 500-some at Sancho's. We felt the drinks were comparable... both places seemed to start out strong and water down over the course of the day. We enjoyed Sancho's food better overall, and actually preferred the Sancho's upright table and chairs over Nachi's laid-back lounger-only setup for eating purposes. Both places are awesome though, and we'd welcome a day at either anytime, haaah!! :D

I’m always so scared to do an excursion from anyone other than carnival but I must say. Y’all have made me want to rethink that decision. Looks like a ton a fun.

We love the beach days that we've done independently in Cozumel... we did Nachi in October, which was good for the more private, quiet feel. Sancho's is a little more lively and crowded, but they're awesome. We still have a few more places to check out, but we like what we've seen so far!! :D

Have you guys tried the all inclusive at passion island? I was wandering how it compared to Mr. Sanchos.

We haven't... we've done Chankanaab through the ship, but that's sort of in a league of its own... more of an animal encounter type park with shows. For beach days, we've dome Sancho's twice and Nachi once. We still want to try Passion Island, Paradise Beach, and I think Playa Mia is the other? So many things to try!!

Seems like the first one is always pretty strong, then they get weaker over the course of the day, ha ha... but for a $55ish all-you-can-drink hangout with pretty awesome food, we're in!! :P

ParoDeeJay my favorite so far has been the Cozumel Bar Hop or the time we rented a taxi and went to the East Side. We like Rastas. They have good chicken quesadillas and Miami vice on the rocks. We haven’t been to Sanchos yet. Maybe in November on the #whatevs cruise.

Hah, no idea! We always go for the Mexican food. They do have a buffet area which had pizza and I believe wings and things like that. There's a nice selection, but we haven't really tried it!! :P

I've always heard such great things about Mr Sanchos. I definitely have to put that on my next itinerary. I, too, LOVE Dee's anchor swimsuit. I think my next cruise I'm going to be testing my alcohol tolerance by getting the drink package, but it gives you a chance to try all of the fun drinks with no regret!

We always enjoy our day at Sancho's... woohoo! We actually tried the Cheers package n the back half of our Liberty cruise, since it was only 3 days. I don't know that we'd do it again, since we had to try extra hard to drink all the drinks, ha ha... but it was a fun experiment!! :P

How long is the ship there...I’d like to rent one of the suites but it is $500.00 for a few hours ..granted unlimited food, and private pool with couples massage....

Depends on the itinerary you’re on. We’ve had 8am-5pm port days, which is awesome. Then we’ve had 12pm-8pm days where you may not feel like you’ve gotten your value.

Cozumel is one place I really did not enjoy at all. Most of those islands are filled with people yelling or grabbing you, to get you to buy something. I do not deal with that very well. My sister and I went into a hand made purse store there once and we looked all around and they had some really nice things, but the man who was running it followed us all around the store, butting in and telling us we needed to buy something. He did not say it politely, so we turned and out. He followed us to the door yelling at us for not buying something and just walking around his store. Not a great experience. I guess that is why I love Bermuda. There are no peddlers on the streets trying to get you to buy things.

I'm taking my hub for his first cruise to Bermuda so he doesnt have to deal with the street peddlers. Not that I mind them by any means, but I think for his first experience I'd like to cut out what I can. I remember being in Jamaica once and buying something from a street vendor and ALL of them started yelling and shoving things in my face.

Yeeeah, we've only ever done some light shopping inside the port area at Cozumel, then a taxi directly to and from wherever we're spending our day, so it hasn't seemed that bad to us yet. Oh mercy, Jamaica... yeah... the first time we went there, we never wanted to come back! This past trip was much better though, but we pretty much stayed near the port. Whew!!

Omg man did u see where carnival was fixing to start charging for room service as of January 22. Then next day took the statement back and said they changed their mind. U n I where talking about that some months ago.

Yeeeeah, they put the brakes on that plan pretty quickly once they saw the uproar. I’m thinking they’ll come back in a month or two with a fixed-rate plan like we’ve seen on Royal...

Funny, at home we never buy alcohol at all, ha ha... we only drink on cruises and vacations, and usually when it's included in whatever activity we've booked. So yeah, we can't say "never" anymore, but you know... :P

We ended up hitting the buffet later in the day, finally! There was a lot of nice stuff up there that didn't seem to be on the normal menu.

So what do you do with your backpacks and personal stuff when you are on these excursions?

We bought little travel combination locks that can be used to lock your zippers together and to lock the straps of your bag around a chair or some other object as a deterrent. We also have some big dry bags, like you might take white water rafting, that can hold stuff and float out into the water with us. Some people use a little portable safe called a SafeGo, and we've also heard people using the KYSS (Keep Your Stuff Safe) locking bags as well. We just go simple though!! :P

Yeeeeep, that was a little surprising. I was hoping if they ever went to paid room service, it might be like Royal does where you pay a fee but you can order as much as you want. The pay-per-item is definitely a downer!

Ah, I keep forgetting that I need to mention or caption where she gets her suits because they always get the most comments, ha ha... We made a point to talk about the swimsuit in our Nachi Cocom video, but I can't assume everyone watches every single video... :P It was originally from Modcloth for about $80, but I believe she picked it up on Poshmark new with tags for $6. Whoop whoop!!

Just wondering have you all ever stayed in the front of the ship? I’ve always stayed mid or aft. Movement doesn’t seem to bother me but I’ve heard you can really feel it in the front.

We have! On the Pride, we used to stay in a very front room because we liked being close to the two lounges. In general, it seems like the motion at the front is a little worse than at the back, and I seem to remember you get a little more "noise" at the front because you can sort of hear the ship crashing through waves sometimes. We tend to stay midship these days, mostly because it's a shorter walk to everything, ha ha...

We like staying midship also. We are cruising with some new friends that we made on our Journey Cruise and the front was the only place they had rooms close together. Well at least I might get some exercise......🤣

We just walk to the main entrance and there are government-regulated taxis there. Up to four people can ride in a cab for $17 total each way. Not a bad deal!!

Not often, but Dee does on occasion. She used to take “less drowsy” Dramamine which still made her tired. Switched to Bonine and it’s so much better! Over the counter and everything!!

For underwater, we have a couple of older GoPro Hero 5 Black models, which are the first that were waterproof without a case. They can be had pretty cheaply these days, and have served us well over the years!!

As of when we were there, it's $17 total for up to 4 people to ride one-way from the Carnival port to Mr. Sancho's, Nachi Cocoum, or Playa Mia. For 5 people, it's $23 total, and for 6-8 people, it's $34 total. When we went in October, it was just Dee & myself so we paid $17 each way. On this trip, there were 6 of us, so we paid $34 each way.
