I loved the Legend - my 1st Carnival ship in 2005 out of NYC - funny watching peeps all bundled up walking around - Pride now leaving Baltimore (2021) and Legend heading up from Tampa - get to sail on her again!..........keep up the great videos! :)
Haaah, we enjoyed our chilly adventure on the Legend! Yep, she's coming to replace the Pride in October 2021, and sending the Pride to Tampa. We're sad to see the change, but the two ships are so similar!!
Yeah, if someone told us they accidentally sent the Pride to pick us up for Alaska, we probably would have believed them, ha ha... they're so similar!! :D
Just booked the 9 Day England, Scotland and Ireland cruise on the Legend! Definitely doing all the Game of Thrones tours lol. Thanks so much for the awesome ship tour. What a beautiful ship. I too love the older designs.
Thank you for your videos! I come to your channel to get information on our upcoming cruises - very informative! I really like this video with the voice over! Great ship walk-thru, awesome content! Thanks again! I look forward to future vlogs! 😊
Voice over Jay, nice job. Have to admit it, but I still like the neon lights, bright brass, exposed metals and glass elevators in the lobby and MDR. I think a little of Joe Farcus design should remain somewhere as ships transition to a modern hotel/mall style we are now seeing.
Thanks so much! The Spirit-class is our favorite so far, being a nice small-to-moderate size with a super flowy layout. Hope you have fun planning an awesome cruise!! :D
Hard to believe when I sailed on her in 2004 and 2006, she was considered one of the larger ships. Now it's a midsize. Nice to see the walking tour of the ship. Not much has changed from when I was on her. Only the additions of the Alchemy Bar and Red Frog. The Red Frog used to be a club that was dedicated to Louis Armstrong.
Yes, surprisingly little has changed on the Pride since the old days... they removed the old Starry Night Lounge and made it the Red Frog Pub, probably in the same location as the club you mentioned. We miss the old lounge sometimes!!
Yeah I see Carnival is trying to make the ships identical on the interior. I haven't been on Carnival since 2010 when I was o the Miracle so haven't seen much of the changes.
I remember water being in the slides sometimes as we would walk around, but I never saw anyone using them, hah. Maybe for summer cruises to Alaska, but it was chilly when we went!! :P
It's the same class and is almost identical, other than the fact that the Legend still has the chapel and library on Deck 3 for now. Even the artwork theme made us think so much of our Pride!! :D
Hi Jay and Dee. We're sailing with on August 13th in Alaska with Legend. We're in cabin 8220 below the Lido. Do you think it will be too loud and will affect our sleeping? Thank you for the infos.
Looks like you're underneath the deli area and the walkway area beside it. You're probably safe enough from noise in that area... I think the cabins that are not as great are the ones right under the pool deck area, where you might hear folks or workers dragging chairs around as they set them up in the morning or take them down at night. With just foot traffic there at the deli, that seems like you'd be okay!!
Beautiful ship! Thanks for the info. We are going on the Elation in December, and that is an older ship also. Have you been on it? I haven't seen any video's if you have.
Ah, we haven't! We've sailed the Ecstasy, Fascination, and Fantasy, which are all sister ships with identical layouts. I think the only one of those we did a ship tour for was the Ecstasy, but we still need to eventually pick up the Elation!!
It does not currently have one, but I know it is scheduled to go into drydock I believe shortly before the ship moves to Baltimore in 2021, and that’s probably one of the things that they will add.
Yes indeed! The only pay options on the Legend are the steakhouse, the seafood shack/corner if it's offered, and the coffee shop. Everything else should be included, such as the main buffet lines, dining room, burgers, burritos, ice cream, pizza... woohoo!! :P
Nice ship, but that decor was just over the top... I noticed during your regular vlogs, those flying "W" symbols and urns (or however you'd describe them) were inescapable unless you were in a themed venue.
A lot of Carnival's old decor schemes can be describes as intense, ha ha... like the Victory is a sea of sea foam green... I know there's a pink ship, but I forget if it's the Sunshine or the Splendor... the Liberty had some crazy rainbow chandeliers, ha ha... the Ecstasy was super neon... we love the sleek, modern ships too, but we're always happy to get back to a ship with extreme personality!! :P
Ever since the Dream-class, it seems as though they started making the ships look more modern, more like each other, and with less individual personality. So, Dream-class and Vista-class are probably more along the lines of the sleek, modern, less-gaudy type of ship, hah...
Oh mercy... yeah, no matter how fast or slow I may be going, I always seem to give a little brake test if I pass a cop car, ha ha... I can be going like 10 or 15 under, and my brain still just makes me tap that brake... :P
